Heaven of a small family restaurant

We found tiny El Meson and were so happy to enjoy this incredible restaurant. Our waitress was the niece of the family/ the uncle the maitre de/ and the aunt the chef. Really incredible dinner and good wine. Away from the crowds and noise! Fantastic!

A restaurant with a cosy interior, Well attended by the owner and great food. As mentioned on the menu they request time to prepare the fresh food and it is worth it! Not suitable for people in a rush or with a bunch of small children.

We had a wonderful meal in this little restaurant in San Martin de los Andes. It's run inside a lovely old house which is very warm and inviting. The service was spectacular, the meals were amazing (highly recommend the trout) and the evening was just perfect. I couldn't recommend it enough!

We just reached San Martin and were looking for some cozy good food. The restaurant is in a small house. The wife is cooking and the husband does the service. Home made dishes with a hint of french cusine. We had a lovely evening and when we were about to leave. The host brought us a glass of homemade lemoncello... More

We had a lovely experience with this restaurant. From the moment you arrive, guests are made to feel like honoured guests with the owners paying close attention to service provided. Very good food and the salmon in champagne sauce was excellent. They also provide complentary appetisers and liqueurs at the end of the meal. All in very pleasant surrounding with... More

My husband and I ate here twice during our recent trip to San Martin de los Andes. We really liked the atmosphere. All 4 of our meals were well prepared. Our favorite was the grilled trout with mustard sauce. The fried squid appetizer was also very good as was the spaghetti marisco (seafood) and the salad Meson. The sauvignon blanc... More

El Meson de la Patagonia was a little hard to find, but after asking a local we got there. The restaurant is cosy and very welcoming. The owners do all the cooking and waiting. The service is prompt and extremely friendly. After ordering wine a delicious complimentary plate of cheese and tomato squares with crispy trout garnished with herbed olive... More

Great service, very nice paella, good wine list. Plus the complimentary home-made green liqueur after dinner (not sure what was in it, but it was good!) All in all, highly recommended if you're staying in the San Martin de los Andes region.

We have eaten here three times over the last few years and have enjoyed every meal, particularly as we are not big meat eaters the selection of fish and vegetables is very refreshing for Argentina. A couple of tips: do not be put off if the place looks rather empty, for some reason this has always been the case when... More

I came here with my husband on our honeymoon, during a short trip to San Martin de Los Andes. To take a break from meat, our hotel recommended El Meson. It was walking distance, right in town, so we wandered over. We showed up around 9:30, and it was pretty empty. Of course, people really come out to dinner around... More
