We were a group of 20 friends. A third of us who had the Hake fish felt it was inedible and left it as is in the plate. The waiter said that there is nothing to be done because the fish was fresh. The first course was ok empanadas or good fried squid. Desert was canned fruit salad or mediocre... More

Very simple place with OK service but the meat in your plate is mouth-watering. Not really expensive. They try their best to satisfy the crowds of local and foreign customers.

Famous for grilled meat, it deserves its reputation. My fillet was really good. As in any other Argentinian restaurant portions are big and basically I got two fillets!! We had to wait a bit before being served since we didn't book and the first waitress wasn't really polite.. But the guy we had later was ok

The place is nothing special but the atmosphere is nice. The food was not memorable but good and the service friendly. The parilla works well.

We stumbled across La Estella and were enticed in by the prices. We were then pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. We ate there 3 times and the fish was exceptional, whilst the meat was simply nice. Try the hake and spinach rolls, or the grilled langoustines! Not sure why there's so many comments on bad service, we... More

Just come back from Wed night dinner in La Estela. The steak and food was cooked well although a little more cooked than I would like...still adjusting to medium in Argentina style!! Ordered a water which took a while as did the bill. Also the wifi was not working which when travelling alone is essential...if not working then best to... More

I guess i'm giving it four stars cause the one of the guys working there was nice and guided us to a local restaurant that was open upon our arrival in Puerto Madryn (usually restaurants close after lunch and reopen at dinner time). In terms of the restaurant itself: we had the Patagonia lamb (cordero patagonico), but were not impressed.... More

We were full of hopes about this dinner, after reading some of the reviews. We ordered "parilla de pescado y mariscos por dos" with "patas fritas". They brought us two enormous plates of fish that was litterally stinking. We could not eat any single piece of that horror-parilla, and we left to have a dinner elsewhere. The waiter very kindly... We have been to many steakhouses in Argentina and most have failed to impress (which is hard to beleive considering where we are) but this was a fabulous meal for the price. The steak was tender and juicy and complemented by some delicious Papas Fritas! As for service, I could not fault it. Service in Argentina is typically terrible but... More

If you're looking for good parilla, this is a safe bet. I highly recommend getting the parilla with lamb - the lamb is a knockout and the highlight of the plate (the beef flank steak left a lot to be desired). We didn't find anhinga greasy at all. If you aren't a fan of organ meats, the best thing to... More
