Nothing compares to an Argentinean steak

After putting up with Chilean food for the best part of the month I was hankering for a good steak and had heard good things about this place. Being from the UK we were starving by the time it got to 7:30 and the place opened for dinner, but it was definitely worth the wait. We each ordered a... read more

Friendly restaurant, had a very nice parilla. We were with our children and waiters advised us not to order too much food as portions quite large, appreciated this very much. Highly recommendable for Argentinian food.

Food is very tasty and the selection of dishes is very good as well. Service could be a bit better though as they rush a bit too much in my opinion

We ate here the other night and I really hate to give bad reviews, but wow the food here was terrible. As many people have said on here already, perhaps we ordered wrong? I thought other reviewers on here were being a bit picky, but clearly not!! My boyfriend had the lasagne and I ordered the pumpkin ravioli - both... More

Great Steak and dishes from a local cuisine. A local favorite recommended to us by many people in the area. A great large restaurant with a very private setting. Great meal.

I had bife de chorizo, jugozo. Delicious steak, juicy. The service was okay, but the waiter seemed stressed and wouldn't recommend things from the menu. But I knew it would be like this from other reviews. Nice atmosphere :).

Food was good. I had a steak, which seem to always be good in Argentina. Most memorable was the pour of a scotch on the rocks. Server brought a new bottle and an old bottle with a little left in it. She proceeded to pour a shot and a little more from the new bottle and then empty the old... More

Visitng twice during our stay in Salta, this restaurant was recommended by LP & was just down the road from our hotel. We ordered one steak - as portions were big - it was more than enough for us. The restaurant was busy - lots of locals - a good sign. Staff very pleasant & helpful

We really enjoyed our dinner at El Charrua! The prices are good and the food really delicious! Each of us ordered a piece of meat (half a portion is enough!!) and a sidedish. One piece of meat was a little dry but thats the only negative part. Nice atmosphere!

Across Salta, Mendoza, Patagonia, and Buenos Aires, this was the best steak I had. Note that there are 2 restaurants with the same name (and our hotel sent us to the wrong one at first), but the pictures and address on this site are right, so make sure you go there. I had the rib eye cooked perfectly medium rare,... More
