Had dinner here last night. Just around the corner from the hotel so I thought I would give it a try. I sat outside which was a bit if a mistake, the traffic noise and exhaust from passing cars killed it a little for me. The ambiance was nothing special, and the service was pretty average. I ordered the Bife... More

Asado (BBQ) meat is of course an Argentinian dish. We ordered the 1/2 parrillada (let's say: the mixed grill), because we wanted to try some stuff. We really liked the chorizo and . Mortadelas, kidney and heart were not really what we expected, but Argentine people seem to eat every cut. In case you just order a steak (or happen... More

This is a restaurant with a huge selection of dishes. When I went I was the only foreigner and people had mostly meat on their tables. They give you an entrée of the most delicious white beans and grilled eggplant I have ever eaten, but the chicken I had was nothing out of this world. The waiter recommended me a... More

Recommended by the hotel. The restaurant offers a great menu at a very reasonable price. The portions are so big that one can easily share a starter and sometimes even the main course. Highly recommended.

This restaurant on Balcarce in the "Penas Restaurants District" was close to the hotel and recommended by Lonely Planet thus we decided to give it a try. We had a plain but good plate of palmitos/heart of palm for appetizer. One main dish, trucha a la plancha came as 3 filets of trout, plenty of food and was good but... More

This seems to be where the folk from Salta eat. Straightforward but good food. There are a number of individual rooms so although this is a large restaurant it doesn’t feel that way. A number of tables on the pavement for those warm evenings. My chicken Provençale was exactly right and the extensive wine list includes some top Torrontés from... More

My wife and I had dinner at Jovis twice, initially at the recommendation of our hotel. The restaurant is fairly large but fills up quickly after 9pm with Spanish-speaking customers - seemed more a gathering place for locals than a restaurant for tourists, but there is an English menu, the waiters were friendly and service is good. Food is standard... More

February 2014, looking for another restaurant nearby which I couldn't find and stumbled across this restaurant by chance. Was I glad I did. The restaurant is large and was completely full for lunch. We managed to get a table outside on the terrace. After getting our meals we understood why this place was so full. The food was excellent, the... More

It's hard to find good food in Salta, especially seafood but they did it. Meditate on the wall of fame while munching and sipping on wine. Enjoy all the other happy people.
