This hotel was about a block from our hotel so we ate there often. I loved the atmosphere, one could just sit and have coffee and a light lunch or wine and a full dinner. One of the dishes, a mixed ravioli was probably the best pasta I ever had. (Although I don;t eat much pasta so maybe I am... More

Typical Salta house and restaurant which is popular with locals. The staff is attentive and friendly. I like it when they play this grumpy old waiter attitude from time to time. Food was decent if maybe there was a tad too much garlic on my matambre which was unfortunate for further social interactions on the same day. :)

If you're looking for a plate full of pasta with a hint of pesto flavor, this is the place for you. Otherwise this is a restaurant to avoid. We also had pasta with red sauce, again without the sauce, and a tasteless rabbit dish. Jovi came recommended by Lonely Planet guide to Salta, which obviously needs a major update. Spend... More

This restaurant was recommended to us by a local guide, and it is clearly very popular with the local people. It was absolutely mobbed for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Even though I can speak Spanish and have been to many restaurants in Spain and in Latin America, we had great difficulty with the menu here because of the different... More

I usually fear restaurants with such a big menu. I tried the Lechon. It was good, can't complaint about it. If you are with a big group with people with different tastes it can be a good option. Good local food.

Late sunday evening - a huge crowd celebrating Boca's soccer triumph all over town - and light rain, so I hurried to have dinner. When I passed this already well-filled restaurant, I thought let's give it a try and I was pleasently surpriced by the quality of the food. The waiter brought some marinated eggplants and beans which were delicious... More

Maybe this is an exaggeration, since I only stayed four days in Salta, but these were the best empanadas I had, and I had empanadas in all the restaurants I visited. For the rest, the food is typical argentinian-Salta food, very good indeed.

The front desk at our hotel (Del virrey) recommended jovi dos when I asked for someplace nearby where we could get a light meal. We ended up getting far more than a light meal but it was so good we went back the next night. Our waiter, Manuel, was very, very kind. My daughter is living in Argentina and was... More

Ignored for the first fifteen minutes after we sat down.Surly service thereafter. The only course we had was served pretty under heated, one dish had a huge amount of mostly congealed cheese covering it. The only white wine by the glass was poor and was served warm, with a bowl of ice to cool it presumeably. We paid and left... More
