Great atmosphere. Local food is really good. We tried the caratheristic local dishes humitas.tamales.locro .the best anyway is the bife de chorizo... ensalada especials is also a great side. The price is also very competitive.

Our experience at Dona Salta was so-so and almost definitely would have been better if we were meat eaters. The kitschy gaucho attire that the waiters wear is funny but a little over the top although our waiter was very friendly and patient with us. Empanadas and humitas were delicious but our pasta was really not good (complete with foil... More

I wouldn’t call it a standout; we went for the empanadas and they were decidedly on the lower quality of the many places we sampled over five days (the best was a street vendor!), but the vegetables in the salads were delicious and fresh and the standard meat dishes were not disappointing. They are accustomed to a large turnover of... More

My fiancée and I went here last night for dinner, the food and service were pretty poor. The empanadas were very good, but no better or worse than we had elsewhere, doña salta's were the most expensive. The bread and salsa dips were lovely, as was the homemade lemonade. We also had the steak which was fine, nothing to write... More

I had dinner at Dona Salta in my last trip to Salta, the place is nice with a nice environment the good was good but not great, in general Salta has good food. The place is too smoky for my test we left with small of food. The server dress with tradicional close that´s something nice to have. Cenamos en... More

The place is touristy, no doubt about it, with the waiters dressed up like gauchos. But the food I had was quite good - the lentils were abundant and flavorful, and the grilled chicken was really tasty. The bread they bring out is actually really good too. I'm only knocking down a star because the prices are similar to Ma... More

Went last night for supper, as always this place is packed with tourists from all over the world, had 2 meat empanadas which were really delicious, but the locro (Their specialty) was terrible!!!! lots of white beans and zero meat! It was so bad that when we complaint to the waiter both servings were removed from the tab.....Nice gesture though!!!!

The atmosphere is nice when doing tourism and the service was good. However I had Matambre and instead of having the roulade of meat with everything I had only a dry and fat piece of meat. I should have requested at the time of the order what kind of Matambre it was, I did not know there were a lot.... More

We liked this spot much more than the many restaurants out on Balcarce. I asked around specifically for a place to get good "locro", which is a regional lamb/beef stew and this is the place everyone suggested locally. Loved it. Service was great---a very friendly "gaucho" (his outfit anyway), who was actually a guy from Bolivia. Just a block or... More

We went to Doña Salta twice and enjoyed it both times. Excellent empanadas, humitas and tamales, and if you are a fan of lentil stew, as we are, this is the place to go. Service is good and the waiters friendly and helpful. Very affordable too. Recommended.
