Amazing food, amazing ambience.

We love this place! If only every town had its own Casona del Molino! This is an authentic peña that is a 15 minute taxi ride out of town, but well worth the drive. The music doesn´t start until late (after 11pm) but the tables fill up FAST (by 10pm you will have to sit outside). We went here 3... read more

There is nothing to say more than what has already been said. However, I'll tell you a little bit about this place. Away from the main st where all the Restaurants (or peñas, as they´re called) are located, La Casona del Molino has more than one reason why you should get out of the "touristic" area and comer here. Food... More

One of the best argentinian restaurants. wonderful food and amazing live local music that starts late but is worth hanging around for. Is a little way out of town so get a taxi.

Food was delicious, try the homemade sangria and the tamales. The service was excellent, although they are always busy, so be patient. Good prices, and nice music in the evenings. Family atmosphere, not too many tourists so you can experience an authentic peña. Also, no entrance fee, no show fee, and now silverware-use fee (many nice restaurants change this in... More

Being a local, I think this place is a nice one to visit specially if you are looking to see the Salteñan traditions come alive at live :) They work a lot with tourists but its also a place for local friends who enjoy gathering to play folclore. The nice thing about it is that the "show" is free and... More

Sometimes, highly reviewed TripAdvisor recommendations fall a bit flat - not this one. Really good food, reasonable prices, and the music is fantastic (but make sure you sit in the first 2 rooms after you come to the restaurant). If looking for more quiet, sit out in the beautiful courtyard like we did and enjoy the music in the background.

Located a little outside of the hotel area. The food and service is excellent and at a low price. But the best thing is the entertainment. Locals come in to play thier instruments and sing which is an awesome experience. It can get really packed around 9pm on the weekends. Must go if you are in the mood for some... More

We've arrived late from Cafayate and could manage to get there only in 22.30, and the place was packed with locals (it was a Saturday night). We barely managed to grab a table, and there were a lot of people standing in line behind us, waiting to be seated. The food was good and very authentic, but what I liked... More

Went there two times during my stay in Salta. There are a few penas in the city, but the ones on Balcaceres are more touristy. This felt much more local and authentic. I had dinner there the 2nd time---a huge slab of ribs which were really delicious. However, one goes there for the music. About 11pm, the guitars come out... More
