Great service although the meal is quite standard (one extra point for the sweet humita), but you do not actually come for this: La Casona del Molino is a wonderful venue, probably the best to listen to folklore. If you are looking for authenticity, stay away from the city center's shiny and super cheesy cabarets. This place is worth the... More

I stayed in Salta for two weeks to study Spanish and visited this place three times. The place is located out in the suburbs and away from all the action on Balcarce, though I believe this to be a good thing as it means the place is frequented mainly by locals which keeps the atmosphere authentic. The food was quite... More

We arrived a little after 9 pm and patio seating was by reservation only, so they put us in the front room. I was a little upset at first because we were the only ones in there and we were told that the music wouldn't begin until after midnight. Well, much to my delight, it started filling up shortly after... More

I had spent more than a month in argentina with argentinian friends and families, everybody told me that you should only eat asado home, and I did it many times in that month, but my last day in argentina I was in salta and I hadn't a home, I went to la casona and there I could eat an asado... Can't recommend it more than already has been said. Yes, there are better meals in La Lenita and in Solar del Convento. And yes, the shown in Balderrama are "better". but there is no beating the magical ATMOSPHERE this place oozes. the partitioned rooms, in which each room sees different musicians. The way these musicians migrate from room to room,... More

We ate here two days ago and we had the best night of our holiday in Argentina. The steak we ordered was one of the best we had and the wine was delicious. The staff is friendly, maybe a little slow but that doesn't matter since the atmosphere is very great. The guitarist is a lovely singer and all the... More
