The steak we had here was superb and great value. Often restaurants in Argentina overcook meat but not here. The restaurant is fairly basic but both food and service are really good
Located outside of the centre of town, this place had some really good steak at affordable prices. I ordered the bife de chorizo, which was came out cooked as ordered. Delicious and tender, though perhaps a tad bit over-salted (the opposite problem of some parrillas in Buenos Aires, oddly enough). I also had the fries, which were ok. Service was... More
Not 'the greatest steak' ever but still a nice experience, a solid steak, and an entertaining waiter. I think some trip advisor users are overly enthusiastic. But nonetheless, worth a visit. If your hostel has a kitchen try buying a steak and cooking it yourself
The best steak in Argentina, so tender that they slided it with a spoon at our table. Very nice restaurant, service great and really authentic Argentinian.
Me and my girlfriend got the bife de chorizo to share, oh my god it was huge, the meat itself was the thickness of my little finger and the tenderness of it was incredible, easily the best steak and probably best meal I've ever had. We got a salad to accompany the steak but we didn't even need anything else... More
We came here twice and loved it both times! If you choose a dish for 2/3 persons it is enough. We ordered french fries, but it was too much! A large Salta beer is only 24 peso's and comes with frozen glasses and a cooler with ice! Service was great also an eldery funny waiter did his job very good!
Our first night in Salta, and as this restaurant had plenty of good reviews, we decided to try it out. We were the first to sit down (8.30 pm), staff more interested in watching the football on TV than serving us - no worries, we were not in a hurry. No English spoken and the menu entirely in Spanish, so... More
If you want a steak, this is the place! Tasty, BIG, juicy. Lacking in atmosphere as it's quite a large restaurant and very hard to fill. We never quite got used to the Argentine dining hours, but even at 9/9.30 p.m. this place felt empty. Don't let this be a reflection of the quality of the food.
We just arrived in Argentina, the guy in our hostel recommend "El viejo Jack". It's not the cheapest place to eat, but of sure one of the best. We had a 600gr "Bife de chorizo", it was great even it was a bit more then "medium". Starter, side dish, dessert, everything was really good. The ambiente is not great, but... More
We visited El Viejo Jack on recommendation from someone at our hostel and the meal was incredible! We arrived and the restaurant was nearly empty - not usually a good sign - but the food was amazing. The bife de chorizo was perfectly cooked and tasted fantastic. The service was friendly and inviting, despite not speaking much Spanish the waiter... More
