After reading all the positive reviews we couldn't leave Tilcara without having a meal here. The place has a really nice atmosphere, candle lights and interesting decor, the service was good as well. We were a bit disappointed by the food though. We asked for soup which was surprisingly dull in terms of taste, lamb in beer which wasn't tender... More

We had an amazing meal at this restaurant which gives a new twist to the local cuisine. The lama and quinoa I had was just delicious! Service is very attentive and the restaurant is very quiet and relaxing. A must!

A lovely night, interesting decor, a charming host and tasty food. For us, this a recipe for fun. Small town so no credit cards. Plan ahead I adored his eggplant dips smoky flavor, an interesting wine list and our llama steak. Order this cooked the same way you would enjoy any beef steak. Be sure to visit this place. You... We loved our meal here, the food was well presented and very tasty. The setting was perfect, spacious with simple decoration. Very relaxing with jazzy music in the background. We had regional food but stylishly interpreted with excellent flavours to give it a more classy appeal.

After seing all the positive reviews, we decided to check it out, and we were not disappointed. We didn't have a reservation and the restaurant was full when we arrived, but we sat on the couch and waited about 10-15 minutes for a table and I don't regret it. Everything we ate was very flavorful and delicious. The service was... More

If you are having doubts about making the trip to Tilcara, its worth it for El Nuevo Progreso alone. Coming from London and living in New York Ive had my share of "top resturaunts'... Dining at El Nuevo Progreso was an experience I have seldom had; the decor is understated and stylish, the food is on par (if not better)... More

We were told to eat at El Patio, but since there was no table free we crossed the street and ended up in this very charming restaurant. Very friendly staff who offered excellent service. The food was really delicious, especially the starter with (self-made) goat cheese. Definitely try the lomo de llama, very very good!
