Lovely but pricey

A lovely restaurant with interesting decor and a nice tasting/wine room. They don't have a wine menu, they take you into the wine room to choose a bottle. The sommelier is there to help you choose. The food was very good but the steak was not cooked how I asked and had to be sent back. By the time... read more

We read about Azafran and decided to try it with high expectations and they delivered right on the money, try it and you won't be disappointed! We sampled their prix fixed lunch (215 pesos) and the wine choice, to starters to main course and finished with a dessert were all incredible quality. They cooked the steak to perfect, it was... We finally got a table for our last dinner in Mendoza. You could say we saved the best for last. Great meal, great waiter and the decor and ambience inside was wonderful. Highly recommend!

An old buiding very well decorated. The wine cave is full of mendoza and argentinian wines. You can go inside and choose your own wine. The food has the chefs hand on everything. We had a hot camembert salad and a homemade pasta. Both dishes were divine!! Personel very helpful and the sommelier really helped us choose the right wine.... More

We had heard excellent things about Azafran from friends who have visited Mendoza. We had an absolutely wonderful meal including the best cheese plate I have ever experienced. The king crab salad appetizer was similarly wonderful. I had the ceviche for dinner and my partner had the pasta meal. Everything was perfect. The one major downside to the entire experience... We had an excellent meal at Azafran. It is an attractive restaurant with nice indoor and outdoor seating. The menu is varied - I had lamb, which was very good. My wife had a steak that she said was the best she ever had anywhere. The empanadas, the salads, and everything else we tried were all outstanding. And the wine... More

We had to go twice to this restaurant. The first night we met a young, nice woman who advised us with the menu, followed us in to the wine expert who helped us to choose a nice wine. The restaurant has a huge wine collection in all price classes in a special room with the correct temperature. We were sitting... More

Very good atmosphere and excellent food. Not a cheap place in the city but worth the pay and the visit. Locate in a pleasant street of Mendoza, a pleasant walk distance from city center.
