I spent almost two weeks in Mendoza and dined at Azafran several times. Every meal was first-rate. I recommend their most excellent Empanadas and, when available, the Bife de Lomo. Choose your wine from their well-stocked "walk-in" storage room or let the staff pick a winner. Staff is friendly and very efficient. Outside dining is most pleasant. Added bonus: if... More

A higher end restaurant in Mendoza. It is well decorated in an upper class rustic style with dried herbs and vegetables suspended from the ceiling in a "small market store" style. Great ambiance. Reservations highly recommended. The ceviche is fresh and delightful, as is langostino risotto. Unfortunately, as is it seems to be the case with ALL Argentine steak, it... More

It is a simple restaurant with limited choice from the menu. The interior walls are full of pieces related to the rural Argentina area, which let the ambiance interesting and relaxed. You can choose a glass of wine from the menu or, if you want a bottle, go to the cave and sommelier will help you to choose one that... More

Myself & my daughter stumbled accidently on this one evening and we were thrilled. Amazing food & fabulous wine at reasonable price (higher end of market though). Lots of little extras (a few nice Bouche's to try!). Fabulous waiter and a wine cellar to chose from instead of wine list. We went back a few days later for lunch and... More

We went to this restaurant on the back of so many excellent reviews on trip advisor. Over the last few nights we had eaten at a few of the restaurants close to this, but never went in because it does not have a menu to peruse outside! How very naive of us, because it turned out to be by far... More

Four of us ate dined outside for dinner on March 20th while doing some wine touring in the surrounding countryside. We had a good experience, but not exceptional. Our food was acceptable, and we paired it with a good wine. The downside is that the restaurant is a bit on the pricey side for the quality of food delivered, and... More

We had some trouble with the reservation (they changed the time, cancelled, then rebooked us). The food was delicious, the sommelier was very helpful and suggested reasonably priced wines from little known wineries. Delicious breads as well.

Upon arrival, my husband and I were escorted to a private table inside of the wine cellar, full of hundreds of bottles of wine surrounding us. The table itself was made out of an old wine press, which was very cool. The service was excellent. The sommelier, Facundo, was fabulous. We both ordered food that is typically served with white... The food was very good, but what you remember Azafran for is the wine list, or rather the lack of a list. Instead, you are invited to pick a wine, with optional help from the sommelier, from their quite impressive wine room (which it seemed you could also book for a wine tasting or dinner).

Walking distance to all main hotels Azafran is a great classy restaurant in Mendoza. We were lucky enought to have dinner at the wine cellar which is at the front of the restaurant and while having a glass of wine, appetizers or dinner we had people coming in to pick, buy or just look around for the amazing wine collection....
