Good Italian basics but a little sketchy walk over from Independencia

I remember the provoleta was amazing and it's nice to have an alternative to meat. Pasta was pretty good and the wine list was extensive, including mainly Argentine and Italian bottles. I would take a cab just to be safe at night. Not sure why people aren't giving it a better review. It's a... read more

Horrible pasta, overcooked and the pesto sauce was tasteless. The parmigiana beef was salty. The service was just ok. It's not a really Italian restaurant, it's a trap. Stay away.

Dear Manfredo, We are really sorry for not having provided you a great moment at our restaurant. Our cusine is "Italo Argentino", a combination of both cultures (restaurant with italian roots that grew up in Argentina). All our dishes have a gurantee, we work and try to improve every day to avoid any kind of mistake; but as humans a... More

As with most "ethnic food restaurants" in Argentina, the food has gotten dumbed down from the first generation due to the fact the the Argentine customers insist on overcooked pasta (and other food) with totally tasteless sauces (and happily calling this slop Italian). Overpriced, riding on its local snobby reputation as a classy place.

Really I believe it's over rated. Too expensive for what we got. Pasta was definitely over cooked. Steak tough and over cooked. Not interested in going back.

This was our first meal after arriving in Mendoza. My wife and I are Italian backgrounds, and we have travelled to Italy several times to visit relatives, and therefore very knowledgeable about authentic Italian food. Although the food was pretty good, certainly it was by no means authentic Italian. The pasta dish I ate had overcooked pasta, but our meat... More

We came here on a recommendation from our hostel. Food was pretty good, I would recommend the fillet in pepper sauce. Wine was also good and there was plenty of free bread! I ordered the fillet with gruyere cheese gratin which was a bit odd as the potatos were small deep fried balls. The meat however was tender and delicious... More

We had high expectations, as this restaurant was recommanded to us. The interior and the fact that it was a full house made us believe we made a good choice. I wouldn't clasify this restaurant as an Italian restaurant. The Italians won't like it. The Vitello Tonato was swimming in un itendified thick sauce and the cut of the veal... More

We came here hoping to have some good Italian food in Mendoza, but were sorely disappointed. The vitello tonato was covered in a mayonnese goop, and the veal was cooked to well done. The gnocchi bolognese was very sweet and way overcooked. The spaghetti al pesto was also way overcooked. The bread was very stale and the service unattentive and... More

Dear Jessica, First we want to apologize for not having providing our dishes as you wished. As you well say, we have a lot of local customers so we cook the pasta for argentine palate (which it is a little more cook than "al dente italiano"). However if you like your pasta al dente, we can prepare it specially for... More

I went to La Marchigiana at the advisement of staff at the hotel in which I was staying (Hyatt). I was starving as I had only had a Rice Krispies treat and some chips to eat and went to LM ready for lunch. I arrived around 1pm, I ordered the Bolognese dish, but I could only eat about a fourth... In one of my 4 days staying in Mendoza I had the pleasure to lunch at La Marchigiana and it was an excellent experience. Very good food and service. Not the cheapest place in the city, but worth the pay.
