First, I'll address with the positives. The building itself is charming with an old world grandeur, and the wine list was among the best we encountered throughout our travels in Argentina. Other than that, this restaurant seems to suffer from that all to familiar story: build a lofty reputation, garner a blind following, become a tourist attraction, hit cruise control... More

The arrival through the big gates is dramatic. The setting is absolutely spectacular. The service is ok, but we werent in a hurry. Our starters (shrimp and salad) was delicious, our main course, steak, was good. But our dessert stole the show - burnt fruits and ice cream!! As a -non-dessert' person, I have to say it was the best... More

It is still definitely worth a visit, but this it seems that success has gotten to this restaurant's head: service is very bad, slow, arrogant, poorly informed. The food is still good, but there are more reasonably priced places in Mendoza. Sure, it is hard to beat the decor of 1884, but it is no longer my top choice in... More

This was our "big night out" in Mendoza. With a reservation, we were seated immediately. It took about 10 minutes for someone to ask if we wanted something to drink, both water and wine. We ordered a bottle of wine, my friend tasted it, said it was ok. Unfortunately, I think it was corked. It never "opened up"; it was... More

The food is correct, in my opinion the first couse: shrimp salad and squid salad both of them had too much lemon on it, so you can not enjoy the rest of the flavor's, the main course was excellent, the ojo de bife with chimichurri was rrect cooking, the service is excellent! The area where the grill and the stone... More

What a delight... The decor, garden setting grill and service combined with an excellent wine list and some if not the best grilled stake I've had is difficult to beat.

At a first glance it is very impressive! The decor is beyond beautiful! You should sit outside by the flower garden if it's warm enough. The menu comes in English but is also North American prices. I made a reservation 15 minutes in advance and they greeted me at the door. I ordered the sirloin steak marinated in mustard. It... More

Turbulent area with no parking lots. Unfortunately we're not able to find it and we lost the reservation due to that. What a pitty. Maybe next time.

This restaurant is a little difficult to find, but it is well worth the search. The décor is very elegant with striped white and green chairs, candelabra, and beautiful place settings. We sat outside on the patio where we could see the meats being grilled and enjoy the flowered trees and fountains. Definitely order the fried cheese – provoleta –... More

The staff went the extra mile and set aside a room for us along with dedicated waiters. We were a large group and they went out of their way to keep the night on track, explaining the meals and the wines, and taking the time to allow us to do our own thing; the had patience! I don't think anyone... More
