Delicious food and ambience

We went here for dinner and the service was amazing. The place itself is an old winery with a lot of the 1884 original features. The food was yummy. We even had the dulce de leche flan and it was good and I dont like flan. Get there early and walk around the parilla (bbq area) and get a tour... read more

I only can recommend this place with a very nice cuisine with a French touch. The restaurant is very nice, interior and exterior, the wine list is awsome ! highly recommended for a special dinner...

We visited this restaurant on a Saturday night, with an early 8:30 pm reservation. We were the only couple in the restaurant for 30 minutes. Even though we didn't drink wine, the waiter offered us many alternatives. We settled on a limonada with ginger and mint. A fantastic drink for us non-alcohol drinkers. Some delicious breads were then served and... More

We celebrated a local friend's birthday here. As a returning customer to this beautiful restaurant located in a historic bodega, I was particularly looking forward to seeing what the new Head Chef, Dan Alterman, had introduced. We decided to ask the Head Chef and the sommelier to pick us a selection of their favourite dishes with wines to match. And... More

We were not sure about a late marathon dinner with our 7 year old, but this worked. The food was great with very attentive service. We loved the open parilla in the court yard... the Argentine equivalent of an open kitchen. The grassy court yard gave us a nice chance to give our youngster a stretch, with comfortable seats and... I wanted to love 1884. Unfortunately, the experience and the food was underwhelming. For a restaurant considered to be one of the best in Argentina, owned by what is arguably its most famous chef, Francis Mellman, the food was average at best. The duck empanada starters were the best thing we ate and, while flavorful, were nothing you couldn’t get... More

We went with my wife for a date night. It took 5 minutes to get us to the table after passing through security. The service and ambience were exceptional. All waiters spoke very good English. Amazing wine carte. There was a nice outdoor patio with an Argentinian BBQ pit but it was too cold to enjoy. We were served different... More

Wow, this restaurant was amazing. The food was incredible, the building just perfect. Being Australian, we're used to paying high prices at great restaurants, but this was cheaper than what we'd normally pay. The service was attentive, if a little snobby. Note that they do not accept USD (not an issue, but just something to be aware of). If you're... More

We had a wonderful experience at this pristine restaurant. The service was marvelous and the food was exceptional. We talk to the chef and he was very kind and really nice. It's a beautiful place to have a wonderful time. I strongly recommend.

Food was great, had a nice evening but wanted to get the attention as I was charged a second time on my credit card an extra 10% on a separate payment I did not signed for. The server asked me if I wanted to add 10% for the service on my credit card, it was not very professional but I... More
