Want to experience local and cultural hangout? Best merienda (Yerba mate and pan caseros) for your afternoon tea. Best entertainment w/ live music at night on weekends. Empanadas (criollos) are amazing. Excellent argentine service. Follow on FB to get musician schedules. Martin Oliva, Bon Voyage, & La Caracteristica Orquestra, to name a few.

This was a delightful find. The restaurant is packed full of locals (always a good sign!) and had an excellent menu full of wine and food. There were a number of comida typical (local food) options, from which my husband had the goat stew (which was great) and I had a milanesa. The empanadas are also delicious (have two or... More

The food was very good, interesting choice of empanadas, and if you like traditional dishes this is the place to go. The service is very good as well as atmosphere. Totally recommendable!

I am used to go to dinner at Alfonsina with some friends. Its a nice place, with nice food and service. It has a rustic atmosphere, it is nice, but you have a lot of restaurants with that kind of atmosphere. If you are not from Argentina, you would like to go there and try some tipical meals of the... I've been to this place over 20 times. It is not amazing, but they consistently have good empanadas, salads, milanesas etc. Service varies quite a bit, but most times is good The ambience is great, it is rustic style, but without being over the top (less of the touristic feeling). Also you can find different options (mate, etc) that you... More

We looked for a place to drink a glas of wine and stumpeled on to Alfonsina. The place has a cool vibe to it, funky art and very friendly staff. We ordered some nice homemade empanadas, especially the chicken is recommendable. The wine was one of the few blends you'll find from Argentina, great taste but a bit to warm... More

We went there fairly early on a Sunday evening, about 8pm, hungry after a long bus ride from San Luis, and the place was still almost empty. It's a quirky sort of place, with an eclectic variety of posters, pictures etc on the walls, simple, wooden furniture that doesn't match, but somehow does. Our waitress was a charming, cheerful, friendly young... More

I knew that the place was not fancy...decor is minimal with an imitation of a rural setting. Menu is more pizzas, etc. And the local dishes not very good...no pleasure to havé a meal there in short !

Despite having been in Argentina for a couple of weeks we couldn't quite convince our tummies that ten at night is a reasonable time to eat dinner. We showed up starving just after seven during what can most easily be called "tea time." The only things on offer were sandwiches and drinks. We ordered ham and cheese sandwiches. The ham... More

One of the very few places where you can try the national beverage of Argentina: Mate. Quite an experience... Also, very good food, Pizza and Empanadas are great, and lovely place full of locals... (I live in Cordoba, and we always gather with my friends in Alfonsina), And, last but no least, the prices are very reasonable!
