Being American tourists with very little Spanish-speaking abilities, we visited Sarasanegro on a recommendation from a friend. Overall, we were thoroughly impressed with the impeccable service, the exceptional quality and presentation of the food and the unbeatable value. Since we did not have a reservation, we arrived early and were seated in a dimly-lit, but intimate dining room. After stammering... More

No question, the best restaurant in Mar del Plata BY FAR; also, one of the best in Argentina. Culinary experience like no other, gourmet dishes made with top-quality ingredients and master technique. Best cooked fish I have ever had. Original combinations, excellent 5-course tasting menu (must try!). I always go back to Sarasanegro when I want to spend an unforgettable... More

Rated number one in MDP.........maybe rightly so, as so many restaurants here have identical menus. Initial impression was strange, with what appeared to be Chinese lanterns hanging from the ceiling. We opted for the 5-course menu, (unusual to find this in MDP, maybe not in B's A's), this started very well. The risotto dish was truly outstanding. But let down... More

While on a short getaway, me and my boyfriend searched for a nice place to have dinner and found Sarasanegro on here, read some reviews and decided to try it out. We arrived close to 8 and parked nearby. There was no one inside and from outside, it appeared to be closed, even though there were servers inside. We went... More

I really love meat, but I really loved this one night stand based on seafood! Everything was top level. The best seafood risotto outside Italy, tasteful merluzon and delicious bread. We showed great interest in the food and were invited to the kitchen for a chat with the chef. He could tell us that he had been cooking in Northern... More

I went to Sarasanegro based on Tripadvisor comments and was not disappointed. I was so motivated I booked for second service at 11pm as restaurant was full before (on a saturday evening) ! The 5 course menu was worth it (carpaccio of sole, risotto with calamars, merluza a la plancha on fenel, a choice of two cheese with 2 types... More

Awesome service, very intimate atmosphere, and best of all: food that will tantalize the most pressing tastebuds. This is NOT your average Argentinian cuisine. They are exploring new territories and doing it well. Can't afford to visit Mar del Plata and not visit. BTW, they offer some of the freshest seafood in MDP. Totally worth it — enjoy!

I also did the 5 course meal and a bottle of malbec.... you can choose... More

Finally I found restaurant that goes out of the 15/20 dishes circuit repeated tirelessly till' the absolute boredom in every single restaurant in Argentina! This is a good quality restaurant as you may find in any big and trendy city all over the world. Nice but simple setting. Cared service. Good and fresh local ingredients, but what stands on this... The restaurant staff, the food and the price point exceptional. We had the 5 course tasting meal with a bottle of Malbec. The meal was followed by a tour of their wine cellar and a parting gift. If you can only go to one restaurant during your stay, make it this one.
