Cup of Cafe Americano

On Sunday while walking the market at the plaza stopped at Janio for a cup of coffee Americano. Service was very good and I enjoyed sitting outside and watching the world go by.

Can't understand the ratings I see. If I could give negative stars I would. The breakfast buffet had the least selections I've ever seen - even counting free hotel buffets. The food that was there was mediocre at best and they did not refill eggs, sausages or juice, which were left empty for at least an hour. Water was dripping... More

If there is one thing you can count on in Argentina it is fresh white buns on the table, the other is sub standard service. Unfortunately Janio only has one of these. The menu offers typical Argentina fare in the heart of Palermo Soho. Our server was very kind but also very inattentive. The Cesar salad looked nice but was... More

The location is interesting, in the middle of a cool district, with tables in and out of the restaurant, you can have a whole lunch, dinner, or just a brunch. The prices maybe a bit higher than other places but you are paying for a corner with a view. I usually use the outdoor tables, so you can have a... More

This place has great outdoors right on Plaza Armenia however the service is not the best; they forget you are seated and do not pay attetion to their customers. Also its really slow and not cheap!

We had lunch in this restaurant/bar in a busy corner of Palermo in Buenos Aires. The food was good, big plates and friendly service. Also, a good place to relax, have a beer, or coffee and watch people go by.

We stopped for a late lunch and sat outside. Service was nicely paced and friendly. The food was ok, but really nothing special, and the wine was above average in cost. I had a chicken sandwich that had good flavor (and actual spice for once, which the waiter warned me about), but the chicken was way over cooked. The outdoor... More

We stopped in for lunch a couple of days ago, thinking this looked like a nice outdoor cafe. I had a Lomo Tiquila sandwich (beef tenderloin with cheese and jalapenos) and my wife had a chicken catchcatori (sp?). The beef was tender and the jalapenos added a nice kick. In both cases though, the meal was decent but nothing special.... More

Lovely location on the corner of Plaza Viejo Palermo. You can sit and people watch whilst enjoying good food and drink. Reasonably priced and very friendly staff.

We had lunch at Janio as it was in the area were were exploring. While there was nothing wrong with it, there was nothing special either. The kind of meal you find hard to remember the day after you've had it.

Staying in Palermo

Neighborhood Profile
Best known as the largest neighborhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. The high-end quarter is Palermo Chico, characterized by magnificent mansions, regal avenues, and exclusive apartment buildings, and home to the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), a favorite amongst locals. The largest park in the city, the Bosques de Palermo, is Palermo's most famous landmark and a popular destination for nature walks, picnics, rollerblading, and cycling. The scene becomes much trendier in Palermo Soho, a hip area known for its cool cafés and unique design stores, filled with shoppers on weekends; and Palermo Hollywood, renowned for the numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make it the preferred spot for nights out and special occasions.
