Nothing to rave about

I am usually fairly easy to please and there was certainly nothing wrong with this restaurant, but nor was there anything to rave about. The food was tasty but not exceptional. The service was reasonable but the waiter seemed a little disinterested. The price was neither cheap or very expensive... read more

We never would have found this place were it not for our wonderful concierge Augustino at Hotel Tengo de Mayo. He was right that it being three blocks from the Congress it attracted local business and government people not tourists. The veal was good almost a schnitzel and the chicken was good in a leek sauce. Advice: avoid fish (... More

This place was a last minute find as the other restaurant we had originally wanted to go to was booked up. This was our last night in Argentina and I'm glad we saved ourselves for such a nice meal for this occasion. The restaurant is traditional and the service was excellent. Our waiters were attentive and happy to give us... More

I don't normally write reviews but I had to for Chiquilin for its quality and amazing mouth watering and delicious steak. I've had a lot of nice steaks in my life including paying premium prices in London, NY etc and this places absolutely deliverers a quality steak cooked to perfection. We had a steak at Alberto's in Bariloche which famous,... More

That's the 2nd place in BA that I have had a steak that is as good as it gets. the other place was the Four Seasons and it was much more expensive but just as good. I went early because I was alone and was hungry. I got there at 7 and it was almost empty. However that didn't stop... More

Very nice place. One of the traditional restaurants of the city. We were there november 2015. We had a three course menu (starter, main course and dessert) for two, with a good bottle of malbec for 700 $ (argentinian pesos) both. Very good choice ever.

This restaurant was recommended by the concierge at the hotel I stayed at. I agree with the majority of the reviews here. It was great. The food, service and the ambience. I had the lomo and the palm salad. The steak was juicy and tender and the palm salad delicious with tomatoes added. I wanted to drink beer and the... More

We were looking for that well known Argentine steak and we found it. Most of the customers were locals which is always a good sign. My husband had a boneless ribeye and I had a half portion of ribs. The entree is just meat so you need to order your sides extra. One side is more than enough for two... More

Went here for New Years Eve. They had a prix fixe. $100USD for three courses (I had smoked salmon, bife de chorizo, and some cake), all the wine you can drink, a bottle of champagne and live music (two lounge singers and a DJ). The food was good. It was very touristy (obviously, I guess). Id imagine the restaurant is... More

A bit pricier than some other places (but not by too much), this place serves up a great steak for 160-250 pesos (Dec2015). Grilled really nicely with that crisp texture and slightly salty and barbecued flavour, I really enjoyed my asado/ribs. The wine is not bad either, they have a decent selection at a great price

Staying in San Nicolas

Neighborhood Profile
San Nicolas

The financial district is well-known for its vibrant atmosphere and unstoppable rhythm during office hours.
