Wonderful Italian restaurant

We had a late lunch and this was a great choice. Wonderful appetizer of burrata, tomatoes and arugula and then a nice portion of veal Milanese. The waiter recommended a lovely Malbec. It reminded me of Italy.

I enjoyed my dinner here.A local friend suggested this restaurant. Service was good, food good but not exceptional or memorable. Quite pricey. Glad I went there but not good enought to go again.

Very good food and excellent service , it seems a bit like and old fashioned place, there are a lot of local people come on a regularly base. It is on the expensive side but if you travel from the US or Europe for the same kind of place it seems inexpensive .

Was recommended to this Italian restaurant, given a great table overlooking the main restaurant, the service was good and a few freebies were offered which was a nice touch. However, the food was very average in it's taste and presentation. Unfortunately, the worst meal we had whilst in Buenos Aires.

This place isn't trendy or chic - it's a classic. But the food and service couldn't be better! The tagliolini puttanesca and the rotolo ala bolognese were exquisite- never tasted better, even in Italy. But beware: the portions are enormous. Half of one appetizer (the stuffed olives) would have been enough for me for dinner (together with the wonderful breads).... More

Another chic neighborhood hang-out in Recoleta...with very, very good Italian food and attentive service. We had some of the best pasta ever, and the Argentinian wine was good and reasonable.

We ate here last week, it was a very short walk from our hotel and recommended by the front desk. We hadn't booked and decided to sit outside (the only guests who did so) since we prefer alfresco when the climate permits. Very good pasta dishes and good value wine and now that the artificial non market rate for the... More

Excellent traditional Italian lunch. Very good shared salad, a fine bottle of Mendel wine and two huge portions of pasta. Professional and attentive service. Around 1700 pesos for two, not the cheapest place in town, but we left with a positive feeling.

We spontaneously went to Sottovoce for lunch and qualms as to the prices were totally allayed by a set lunch menu of three course with a generous glass of wine for 199 pesos each which was really too cheap! This included some of the best pasta I have ever tasted and the cooking was perfect. The ambience is sophisticated and... More

Staying in Recoleta

Neighborhood Profile
Recoleta
Characterized by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighborhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centered on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.
