Great Italian Restaurant

I had always wanted to eat at Sottovoce, and finally I did two weeks ago. The ambience is very unpretentious, the food is delicious and the service is excellent. Very nice champgane selection, and overall, it had great prices. Would definitely go back next time.

This is one of the best Italian restaurants I've found in the city, and I still enjoy it today. This afternoon, we went for lunch, and it was nice and quiet. As Americans, we were a little early, but it began to fill up as we were leaving. There is a $35 per person cover charge (cubierto). The bread and... More

Sottovoce was a wonderful Italian meal in BA. The servers were polite but not overly helpful with the menu. Both my husband and I enjoyed delightful pastas and great wine. Would love to go back next time we are in the city.

My wife and I were out strolling in Recoleta on our last day in BA, chanced on Sottovoce from recommendations, and were completely delighted. It is obviously one of "the places" for the portenos who live or work in this wealthy area, the the restaurant was packed with them. The food is classic upscale Italian, very well prepared. Best of... More

Probably one of the best restaurant I have ever gone to, and just in Buenos Aires there are quite a few good ones. Best to make a reservation. It was a Saturday afternoon and the place was busy, the class of people was upper class, but the waiters and the host treated everyone the same. Drinks and food came out... More

We dined for lunch, and it was delicious. Attractive bistro atmosphere with excellent service. Waiter presents a small basket with an assortment of their homemade pasta noodles for you to choose with your dish. Pasta was very good. One in our party had a strip steak, and said it was very good. Extensive wine list. Great location in the Recoletta.... More

The most awful experience from a restaurant I dined abroad on holiday. I had a dinner with my fiancé on 30 December 2014. The bill came to 952 ARS and I paid on my credit card. After came back to the UK, I had a credit card statement and found that the restaurant charged me twice for the amount. I... More

Staying in Recoleta

Neighborhood Profile
Recoleta
Characterized by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighborhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centered on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.
