Outstanding Steak house

La Cabrera is an institution in Buenos Aires and commands long queues most times. We were lucky to find a table on the day but then again we arrived quite late. Meat and service are excellent and decor is very cosy. A must when in BA.

Opens at 12:30 for lunch. We tried the mix salad, empanadas, filet/ribeye, fries and chocolate cake for dessert. This is a steakhouse with family portions. Mixed salad can feed 4-6, one order of Lomo (filet) has 4 pieces. We ordered half order of filet/ribeye but wasn't impressed (no seasoning and ribeye was tough). We did have a great bottle of... Visited La Cabrera on our first night in Buenos Aires. The steak lived up to the expectation that other Trip Advisor reviews had promised. The service was really good and the portions were huge. I would comment that the price is more expensive than other restaurants in BA. Possibly capitalising on the raving trip advisor reviews. Either way, highly recommended!

My wife and I ate here our first night in Buenos Aires. Delightful! Portions are plentiful and the meals are hearty. I ate the steaks which were served exactly as I requested (medium) and the wait staff were very attentive. The restaurant decor was electric and very unique. If visiting BA, I would certainly dine here again. Make certain to... More

We had a delicious meal at la cabrera, with nice wine and tasty steak. The price was moderate but good value for the quality of food. However, we found the service was terrible. Our server hassled us every 5 minutes, asking when we were going to order, when we going to pay, when we were going to leave. Our starter... More

Service started well, ordered wine and food, didn't feel like getting an appetizer but server suggested a salad to split. We received our meat, 4 pieces of filet each, and were excited. However, only one piece each was cooked the way we ordered it. All other ones were dry and overcooked. Then we realized after trying to get the server's... More

Here is an example on how good reputation and reviews (may) create relaxation on service and food quality. Yes, it is a very good restaurant, But not an Excellent. Portions are enormous but had better meat in other places. Too crowded for waiters to be nicer! Maybe I had a bad day!!!!

This was beyond delicious. Generous servings and so reasonable. Great service. Only complaint was that the AC was so high it was unpleasant and I couldn't wait to leave. All the sides were delicious too.

Went there because of the happy hour between 7 and 8. 40% off the first our was nice. My beef was not made perfectly, to raw, and not very tender. My girlfriends beef was good and juicy. Many dips, good french fries and good wine was a plus. The service was poor. They did not tell us anything about the... More

First off the atmosphere is wonderful, friendly, chatty staff, helpful and welcoming with traditionally Latin service (not formal and efficient). The food is good but the portions are huge, I left feeling like I needed an ambulance to take me home, do not under any circumstances think you can get a starter, main, side and dessert each without suffering for... Staying in Palermo

Neighborhood Profile
Palermo
Best known as the largest neighborhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. The high-end quarter is Palermo Chico, characterized by magnificent mansions, regal avenues, and exclusive apartment buildings, and home to the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), a favorite amongst locals. The largest park in the city, the Bosques de Palermo, is Palermo's most famous landmark and a popular destination for nature walks, picnics, rollerblading, and cycling. The scene becomes much trendier in Palermo Soho, a hip area known for its cool cafés and unique design stores, filled with shoppers on weekends; and Palermo Hollywood, renowned for the numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make it the preferred spot for nights out and special occasions.
