I've been to Italy, I've eaten italian in NY. To my amazement the best pasta I've ever eaten: La cuccina di Michele in Buenos Aires. Go there, you won't regret it.

My husband and I went here for a treat and we were not disappointed. We went for the special set menu which started with the antipasti buffet which was gorgeous (I have uploaded a photo). Then we were given the first pasta which was a pasta shell stuffed with pork in a pesto sauce which was so tasty, the second... More

This is a five star dinner in Buenos Aires! Restaurant is very nice, is kind of old but that gives it the special touch, you feel as if you were in your grandmothers living rooom and dinner table, everything is covered in dark wood, with good ambient lights, and right in the middle of the restaurant a small kitchenette were... Homemade pasta. Amazing Italian food and a very traditional place. It is also very cool to watch the chef cooking your meal in front of you and all the others at the restaurant.

The pastas where very good yet.... I guess I over hyped the restaurant in my head and was a bit unimpressed. The wine list was below average, I was expecting to find some italian options to change the pace from all the malbecs and none listed. The restaurant seemed old and tired. The servers where very attentive and again the... More

From the moment you walk in the door of this friendly intimate restaurant in Las Carnitas, you feel like you're in Italy. The large antipasto buffet is just like you would see in most any trattoria in Italy. We had the gustacion de pastas and it was a great way to sample 4 of their homemade pastas, which is what... Real, authentic, fresh, good quality, expertly cooked PASTA! That's what you come here for. I've never really been all that impressed by pizza or pasta in Argentina, despite the country's Italian heritage, but this place really stands out. The owner clearly knows what he is doing when it comes to Italian dishes. We had the set menu so had a... More

Wonderful staff, great food, and reasonable prices. The spaghetti al gamberi was my favorite, fresh homemade pasta, rich flavorful tomato creme sauce, and plenty of perfectly cooked shrimp. Our waiter was attentive, open, friendly and had some great recommendations, but never pushy. The tiramisu was also a nice finish to the meal.

Neighborhood Profile
Palermo
Best known as the largest neighborhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. The high-end quarter is Palermo Chico, characterized by magnificent mansions, regal avenues, and exclusive apartment buildings, and home to the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), a favorite amongst locals. The largest park in the city, the Bosques de Palermo, is Palermo's most famous landmark and a popular destination for nature walks, picnics, rollerblading, and cycling. The scene becomes much trendier in Palermo Soho, a hip area known for its cool cafés and unique design stores, filled with shoppers on weekends; and Palermo Hollywood, renowned for the numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make it the preferred spot for nights out and special occasions.
