An interesting twist....

After two weeks of typical South American fare, we were very ready for the wild and varied flavors of South East Asia, Cocina Sunae did not disappoint. Chef C's Thai Soup is out of this world and bears her personal stamp. Couldn't say the same for the rest of the food though, the Filipino eggplant... read more

But I would love to give it another chance. The ambiance, very romantic - brochettes, delicious!! Spring roll - bland . The gaeng gung, I've had better. The escabeche- AMAZING!!!!! I was fortunate to meet chef Sunae, lovely person ;) . Will definitely go again.

Spent an excellent evening with my girlfriend last Friday. You must make a reservation online via the restaurant's website. The place is away from popular restaurant and tourist areas. There's a weekly menu chosen by the chef with options on the main dish. They have options for vegetarians.

I don't blame you if you're stomach literally feels heavy after just a couple of nights of eating in BA. Between steak, pasta, pizza, more steak, medialunas, empanadas and the like your body can really take a beating. There are alternatives in BA, but solid asian cuisine is far and few between. Cocina Sunae has been a staple on the... More

Had amazing food and wine at this place! If you like red wine, go with a Pinot noir with the cuisine served at this place. Love the idea of casas cerradas. You also can't beat the price for the quality of food you get! :D

Cocina Sunae is a great experience. The atmosphere on the indoor/outdoor patio is great, and the food was amazing. We definitely wanted to check out a closed door restaurant while in Buenos Aires, and although Sunae definitely has more of a restaurant feel than a "homey" feel, we are very glad we went. All of the courses were amazing, and... More

This was our third closed-door restaurant in Buenos Aires, so I feel real good about being able to accurately assess the value and experience here. And neither were impressive. We had an 830pm reservation which is very early for BA standards and of course we were the first to arrive. It was raining on and off that evening. Cocina Sunae... More

I went with a couple of friends to this closed-doors resto. The place is really beautiful and the service excellent. The ambiance is very calm and invites to enjoy the dinner. The wine list is quite complete. Regarding the food, the first and second dishes were delicious but my experience with the main course didn't excel. Between the pork, the... More

Cocina Sunae serves Southeast Asian cuisine focusing on Filipino, Thai and Vietnamese, served family style or as a 4-course individual meal from the owner’s home kitchen. On the evening I had dinner there, the Chef, Cristina, served an extra Filipino dish and we had both main course choices presented family style. The soup was Bulanglang (Filipino) of prawn flavoured with... More

Every time I go to Buenos Aires I dinner at Cocina Sunae, it's an awesome restaurant. If you love Asian or spicy food you can't miss, the service is very friendly (they also speak english) and the ambient is great.
