What life is all about

Went here on new years day for the 7 course taster menu and wine pairings. A really lovely decadent meal and evening. This is what life is all about!! The 7 courses included a superb sea bass risotto, excellent ceviche and melt in the mouth suckling pig. Wine pairings were explained to us and were... read more

There is now a new chef, owner and concept in this location. It is called Uco. We walked there and were disappointed because previous reviews had not made this clear.

Hernan Gipponi is no longer the chef at this restuarant. It still offers a tasting menu but it's not the same resturant that has been reviewed in some of the reviews below. When we arrived for our reservation, things looked different, not quite what we were expecting (decor mainly) and when we asked the hostess if this was the Hernan... More

We had read the reviews of this restaurant and were apprehensive that it wouldnt live up to its hype. However it really didnt disappoint. the 7 course taster menu accompanied with wine (actually 9 courses with the amuse bouches) was really top notch and the staff were very keen to tell us not just about the food and promote the... Read the reviews and decided to book this restaurant even though our concierge had not heard about it!!! We were not disappointed! I was with my 12 year old son and so he opted out of the tasting menu but I decided to indulge!!! The food was incredible. My son had the smoked trout to start and the black ink... More

In the Fierro hotel in Parlemo Hollywood you will find this hidden gem, headed by chef Edward. The atmosphere is chic and comfortable, a mix of locals and guests at the hotel above. The food is fantastic. The tasting menu is recommended, but when we saw the shoulder of Patagonian lamb for 2, we could not help ourselves. The lamb... More

I always think that the first sign of a good meal is whether a taste of food stops someone talking mid-sentence as they put food in their mouth; pause; reflect and then go MMMMMMmmmmm. We had six of those moments in the seven courses of the tasting menu, which is as good as I've had anywhere. It included two "God... More

Based on the reviews here, and in the Lonely Planet guidebook, we anticipated a great meal. We did not have that meal. We ordered the 7 course tasting menu with wine pairings and only one course had any taste at all. Disappointing to say the least.

This restaurant is in the hotel Fierro . Its entry is a painted sliding glass door where you buzz to be let in. We choose the 6 course tasting menu with wine pairings. They graciously modified the menu since my daughter and I don't eat meat. The meal was delicious especially the melt in your mouth white salmon and we... More

Staying in Palermo

Neighborhood Profile
Palermo
Best known as the largest neighborhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. The high-end quarter is Palermo Chico, characterized by magnificent mansions, regal avenues, and exclusive apartment buildings, and home to the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), a favorite amongst locals. The largest park in the city, the Bosques de Palermo, is Palermo's most famous landmark and a popular destination for nature walks, picnics, rollerblading, and cycling. The scene becomes much trendier in Palermo Soho, a hip area known for its cool cafés and unique design stores, filled with shoppers on weekends; and Palermo Hollywood, renowned for the numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make it the preferred spot for nights out and special occasions.
