It was born in 1948 in Mar del Plata (big touristic city by the sea, host for the International Film Fest) manufacturing the best "alfajores": a traditional pastry made of 2 cookies attached by a thick layer of dulce de leche covered by chocolate (or meringue). You could not visit Mar del Plata without bringing alfajores as a gift to... More

Havanna is a coffee chain in BA, but in my opinion much superior to starbucks, great alfajores and good coffee. The dulce de leche they sell in jars is also excellent.

I am obsessed with the Alfajores that have Dulce de Leche in the middle with a Meringue coating. I didn't stop in for coffee as it was very packed every time I went for Alfajores but those alone kept me going back. I even bought 2 boxes to take home with me since they are impossible to find anywhere!

Oh this place is such a delight. The submarino here is delicious which is a must when visiting buenos aires - you are given a hot glass if milk with a block of dark rich chocolate that you mix in ! So so good. You can also get these sweets which I loved called coronitas - which is 3 small... More

Nice snack, but not serious breakfast. Coffee was good, which worked for mr wife. People were very nice, trying to decipher our pointing at items on the menu. Cookies we brought home were a big hit.

So the coffee in Argentina is nothing to write home about! We accepted that! We also learned how to say 'No Cinnamon' on our cappuccino, but the biscuits..................OH YUM.................... Wonderful treats in wrappers that were just delightful. I am proud to say that over the nine days we were in Buenos Aires, we must have visited one or another Havanna... More

I think Havanna is just over rated!! You'll find much better alfajores and coffee about anywhere else and for a third of it's price!!!!!!!

It's a argentine tradition, the best alfajor cookies! Good coffee and fast service, polite service. The alfajor cookies make great gifts to take back home. Everything they make is very good and reasonable price
