As we pulled into the Park Hyatt in the Recoleta neighborhood, we asked our driver to recommend a restaurant walking distance from our hotel. Fervor he said. And we say thank you! Fabulous old world restaurant with friendly knowledgeable staff, quality food, excellent wine list, & setting dripping with charm. Could have stayed all afternoon to watch well heeled locals... Our hotel recommended this restaurant mentioning the fish. We had not booked but a table was found for us on a busy Saturday night. Superb service from a team of waiters. Magnificent fish, perhaps the best I have ever been served! The chips were very disappointing but the grilled vegetables were full of flavour. A large wine list of local... More

Quality food, friendly service but filled with mostly Americans and Europeans. It is expensive (approx $120 USD for 2 people - 2 entrees, 2 sides, 1 glass of wine, cubierto and tip) but portions are large and food is tasty. Reservations are a must (restaurant was completely full by 8:30 - restaurant opens at 8).

Our waiter (excellent in all respects) recommend the "Asado de Moriscos." I would dubious, but the four of us were astounded at the quantity and quality of the seafood that was heaped on a large platter for us to share. Shrimp, octopus, calamari, whitefish, and one other I can't remember. We could not come close to finishing it all. It... More

We found this restaurant by accident next to our hotel on a small side street in Recoletta area. Atmosphere was the first thing to notice, just as one would imagine 50 years ago. Very good kitchen and stylish service. Also price level is pretty reasonable for such quality.

We came across the place while looking at reviews for another steak house and decided to give it a try. The atmosphere felt upbeat and friendly as soon as we walked in and we were seated in the main restaurant down stairs. We were there by 8pm and it was reasonably busy but within half an hour it hadfilled up.... More

We had this reccomended by our hotel and it was just 200 yards from the hotel. It had a great atmosphere, really buzzing, well layed out, traditional styling and you immediately felt comfortable. The food was excellant, our first Argentinian steaks, and WOW they were delicious, salad, and vegitables, plus an excellant wine list and most importantly very professional service.Could not find any... Our hotel recommended this restaurant and it was a fine choice. Everything from the decor--tablecloths, good company, great wait staff, fine wines, and great scents was calling our name. My date had meat. I had seafood. Both our dishes were ample and delicious. This is a fine kind of dining place that is also relaxed. If I ever return to... More

A really nice restaurant for dinner. It's a very busy and buzzy restaurant and you would definitely need to book. Argentinians eat a lot of steak and that's what you need to order here, it comes with a lovely chimichurri sauce as well....gorgeous. I highly recommend Fervor for dinner.

This restaurant was recommended by the hotel and our tour guide. The steak was exceptional although a bit undercooked, and the service was friendly and efficient. Throw in a good wine list,an excellent salad and a nice ambience, and who could ask for more. Highly recommended.

Staying in Recoleta

Neighborhood Profile
Recoleta
Characterized by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighborhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centered on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.
