The best ceviche I've ever had. The restaurant's atmosphere is very elegant and romantic. And the food is truly outstanding. It was my first time at a Chef Acurio Restaurant. I've been obsess with his work since then. His ceviche is perfection. We also tried the Lamb. Wow! Every bite was heaven!

We went (all excited and salivating!!) on Tues March 25, 2014, but there was no sign of a restaurant. They have either closed permenantly or moved to an unadvertised location. The ice cream/gelato place next door told us they haven't been there since sometime late in 2013. Based on previous reviews, it seems they disappeared sometime after Nov 2013. In... More

I am Peruvian and a Chef. I love Peruvian food, everything, as long as it is well prepared and service is good. Have been to Astrid y Gaston in Lima several times and believe me...the restaurant here does not meet the standards. Some who do not know or have nothing to compare with might like it...not me, will not return.

Was staying in Palermo and saw Astrid y Gaston while walking. Made a reservation and had dinner there one night. The service was incredible and attentive. Food was delicious, although small portions and wish there was more of it. Price was on the high end.

Was looking forward to experiencing it. It was closed. A local checked and indeed it closed permanently on July 8, 2013.

I've been in Astrid y Gaston in Lima, Santiago and now Buenos Aires and never got disappointed. The quality of the food is just great. We had three different types of ceviche as starters and meat in a wok with vegetables and rice as main course. For dessert the suspiro limeno is very sweet, just for sugar lovers. Service was... Intimate spot with so much personality, I was so happy to find this place! The ingredients were fresh, the food plated with care, and all extremely delicious. If you're in Buenos Aires, I highly recommend visiting Astrid y Gaston (unless you plan on making it to Peru, then go to the one in Lima instead!)

Somewhat over rated, cebiche nice, but what could go wrong there...main dishes with fancy description but nothing impressive and waiters in bad mood....not worth the price , expected a lot more.

I went to the restaurant during the BA Food Week April 15-22, 2013. There was a special promotion. We didn´t know that it was more of a tasting that actual food. So the portions were very small, it seems that they were trying to save money!!!. Food was very well prepared. Service was very good. We paid 50us$ per person... More

Great value for money at Astrid y Gaston duing BA Food Week April 15-22. For 99 pesos (US420 or less depending on the exchange rate used) we had a three course lunch of ceviche, linguado and dessert. The food was delicately prepared, fresh and nicely presented. Great pisco sour too, but that was extra.
