Another solid steakhouse in BA, don't be discouraged by the (kind of silly) name! We enjoyed a couple of good steaks (note: I think the "plainer" the steak the better...the mushroom sauce, while tasty, was a bit overwhelming on one of the steaks) and a lovely bottle of wine. The potatoes that give the restaurant its name were also really... More

Food is quite good, ideal place for a quick meal. This is a traditional place where you can still find genuine home-made like dishes.

Had the bife de chorizo, which was my dish of choice while in BA for 10 nights. Incredibly mediocre. Food was OK and a bit overpriced. Nothing that makes it stand out at all. Seems to me that unless you go to NYC and eat at Sbarro, this is not the place to take in good quality food in Buenos... More

Definitely worth a visit! the fries are thinly cut and double cooked, and as a result they become puffy and crunchy: not to be missed. All sort of beef , all extremely good, available as well

It is not possible to walk through Florida street and not to visit at Lavalle intersection "El Palacio de la Papa Frita" (fried potato palace) ...., a restaurant that is probably 50 or 60 years old by the environment and furniture, but that is famous particularly for one of its specialities: "papas souffle" or souffle potatoes, which are air containing... let's face it, it's not all potatoes that's mashed... but when you are asked to pay 7 bucks for one starchy, tuberous crop from the perennial Solanum tuberosum of the Solanaceae family... sorry, I recommend skipping the "Palacio" and pretty much the whole microcentro neighborhood for that matter, that seems more like a slaughterhouse for tourists than a culinary promise.... This place was a great surprise for me. It looks a bit tired in his decoration, but the food and the wines were amazing. The papas fritas and the bfe de corizo are outstanding.

Found this restaurant during a walk on a hot day on Calle Florida. Everyone was really hungry and we needed some rest. The ambient is nice, with air conditioning. We ordered a salad to start, with lettuce, olives, tomato and a nice avocado touch. Good start. For the main course we got an Ojo del bife con papas souflê. Very... More

Old and tired as the place may be, a trip to Buenos Aires is never complete without a trip to the Palacio de la Papa Frita. Their famous papas soufflé are not to be missed!
