The best "papas" potatoes

incomparable potatoes. The meat isn't so good, there are best places to eat beef, but the potatoes are incredible. Ask "soufle provenzal" , with parsley and garlic

French fries is actually a misnomer--these actually resemble blimps --hollow structures and are delicious. Steak is a specialty and my favorite is bife chorizo--which resembles a strip steak with more fat and more flavor. There is a good wine list. The service is very good and has been consistently so for the more than twenty years we have been coming... More

This was probably the last time I went there. 25 years ago it was a great restaurant with fantastic steaks and the innovative "papas souffle", french fries that look like a pillow and taste really good. Last night I went there again and was disappointed. I asked the waiter about the Asado de Tira (ribs) and he just said he... More

We got to Buenos Aires late at night and looked for Palacio de las Papas Fritas as a confort food and late night place. We were not disappointed! It was exactly what we wanted and received what we expected.

Typical argentine steakhouse that has been around for decades! Must have the potatoes soufflé. We visit every trip and are never disappointed.

This is a tough one since any restaurant that hasn't changed in over seventy years has beaten 99.99% of the odds in restaurant survival. No new and improved Palacio de las Papas Fritas on Lavalle, although you'll find there are three other "Palacios" scattered around Bs As. If you are near one, it is worthwhile to get to know their... We went for lunch and took the business menu. The first course included a small empanada. The main course included authentic French fries and 200g steak with fried egg on top of it. Food was ok, not the best I ate in Argentina. Total price was 160 pesos way above the average cost in similar restaurants. Price also included service... More

In here you can try all the typical argentine dishes. Their speciality are "papas fritas" (french fries). My 2 favorites the provenzal (with garlic and parsley on top) and the souffle (puffy round fries) Want to try probably the most typical dish (after asado) in Buenos Aires: Milanesa con papas fritas a caballo (breaded steak w/ french fries and 2... This is an iconic Buenos Aires restaurant. Their specialty is steak (get the bife de chorizo with a side of fries) and french fries. The fries here are called "papas soufle" and they are great, the restaurant is named after them and they are famous in Argentina. Great for lunch or dinner.

As some other people said, the quality of the restaurant -incluiding of course the meals- have nothing to do with the name of the restaurant. Their service, as well, is amazing. It is not the most original and fancy name, but I bet you would enjoy every plate in their menu. I shall go back, and eat, specially for the... More
