Nice Experience with Very Good Steak.

Our private guide had recommended this location as it was a Sunday evening and many places were not open. This was our final evening in B.A. so we wanted to have one final steak experience and the restaurant we had original wanted to try was closed. We went all out with this meal and started... read more

I was disappointed with both our meals. I had ravioli , the pasta was not cooked through. Service was marginal. The steak was okay , nothing to write home about. The restaurant was clean not much English spoken here. There was an English menu , but all the prices were erased and it was not exactly the same as the... More

I used to dine at this restaurant often and this time the service was really bad. Lack of attention, not being available, not asking the meat cooking point. Will not go back for a long time. I am referring of La Payuca in Arenales street.

I make it a point of eating here every, yes every, time I pass through BA. The Bife de Lomo is fabulous, the various side orders delicious, and the atmosphere rather brick-wall Nuevo Trendy. If I lived in BA if probably eat here every week. Two of us can have a great meal and get out for under $50USD which... More

The food is awful. I ordered a "milanesa a la pizza" or something similar, that comes with smashed potatos. Both terrible. I have no word to describe it. It seemed like frozen food, with no taste. Also the waiter was impolite talking to us with "Diga me", what it's really not nice. Also my friend who didn't eat a thing... More

This restaurant has a nice ambiance and an open charcoal grill. I had a steak done "jugoso" and my friend had brochette (skewered steak and chicken). We also ordered a side salad and fries. All was received quickly and smelled fantastic. The steak, while delicious, was fairly tough and chewy, even though it did arrive medium rare. Service was ambivalent.

This Payuca has a good reputation among locals and indeed seems a bit of a locals place. There is a small are with toys for children so many families come here. Service was fine, food came quickly and was tasty. Nothing really fancy but fine quality.

The La Payuca location on Avenida Santa Fe is on one of Buenos Aires' grand shopping avenues near its intersection with Avenida Pueyrredon and the Subway station of the same name on the B line in the Recoleta district. If you wish to eat like a Porteno (local) arrive for dinner at 10:30 p.m. to enjoy a wide variety of... More

We ate at the La Payuca on Arenales street. Atmosphere was okay and so was the place. Service was good. The food was okay, beef was very good but the sideorders were missing salt but it was easy to add some.

I visited the restaurant on Arenales for dinner with friends, had a great meal, the decor is great, the service was helpful and friendly, and the food was delicious. Later on my trip I visited the Sante Fe locale for lunch, I had the special lunch menu, great value for money, all in all a great place to sample Argentinian... More

Neighborhood Profile
Palermo
Best known as the largest neighborhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. The high-end quarter is Palermo Chico, characterized by magnificent mansions, regal avenues, and exclusive apartment buildings, and home to the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), a favorite amongst locals. The largest park in the city, the Bosques de Palermo, is Palermo's most famous landmark and a popular destination for nature walks, picnics, rollerblading, and cycling. The scene becomes much trendier in Palermo Soho, a hip area known for its cool cafés and unique design stores, filled with shoppers on weekends; and Palermo Hollywood, renowned for the numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make it the preferred spot for nights out and special occasions.
