Parillada to Die For

This was a place that came recommended by a friend who dined here 20 years ago and it is still open. The decor was rustic, very laid back and casual. We had a paper table cloth and crayons to keep us occupied as the food does take quite a while to arrive once ordered (approx 30 mins). We were a... read more

This was more 'cheap and cheerful' than quality steak. Ok, but if you're looking for good parilla, look elsewhere. Big meals but not good quality steak.

We went on a weekday evening and the place was full. Service was very good. Waiter suggested a better wine for the same price, for example. Food was wonderful. My companion and I shared a large dish that was their specialty. It included steak, eggs, roasted vegetables, butternut squashed puree, rice and bread. The lemonade was delicious. We also shared... We go to Buenos Aires every year for 2 weeks. We have been in so many different restaurants every time, but the one we always come back to is Las Cabras, its absolutely authentic old good Argentinian food at its best, served by friendly staff. i would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a good meal with not thrills... I brought my friend to this restaurant to show typical Argentine food and I got recommendation from my local friend. But it was quiet touristic! Of course, it was a pretty good quality of food. We enjoyed Asado! As they served large portion of steak, we shared one dish. But there were lots of customers in the restaurant so they... More

Great food and value for the money. Wine is reasonably priced and staff very helpful and accommodating. Not much English spoken so have a friend who speaks Spanish in the group will help. Expect a long wait but worth it as there are a few bars on the adjacent corners if too crowded while you wait for a table. No... More

Great atmosphere. Fantastic food. Don't be put off by the photos on TripAdvisor which (before I came) I thought made it look a little stodgy! It's not. It's really good. (NO CREDIT CARDS)

Love this place. Came 2 years ago, just came back again. Still great! Great prices, very busy with locals at lunch. If you can, arrive at 12-12:30 before the big rush. Better in warm weather to enjoy the patio. Gotta do the bife a las cabras! Huge but a great price. Great bife.

We dined here 4 times during a 10-day stay in Buenos Aires. The quality for price can't be matched. While obviously not as tasty as parilla's like Don Julio, the food here is still delicious - and CHEAP. Steaks are big and can easily be shared, although if you're going to do this I'd order a starter like the provoleta... More

Having done our research into BA steakhouses, we had this on our 'cheap and cheerful' list - so we were very pleasantly surprised to find such an atmospheric and bustling restaurant. The place was packed with locals, couples and families even at 8pm when we arrived. By 9-10pm there was a line out the door. The provolone cheese starter was... More

Staying in Palermo

Neighborhood Profile
Palermo
Best known as the largest neighborhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. The high-end quarter is Palermo Chico, characterized by magnificent mansions, regal avenues, and exclusive apartment buildings, and home to the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), a favorite amongst locals. The largest park in the city, the Bosques de Palermo, is Palermo's most famous landmark and a popular destination for nature walks, picnics, rollerblading, and cycling. The scene becomes much trendier in Palermo Soho, a hip area known for its cool cafés and unique design stores, filled with shoppers on weekends; and Palermo Hollywood, renowned for the numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make it the preferred spot for nights out and special occasions.
