Excellent Intimate Dinner

This is a small neighborhood restaurant with great atmosphere and classic Argentinian food. Several in our party had the lamb and it was incredible with roasted vegetables. Sopped up all the sauce with the bread it was so good.

First night in BsAs and it was Valentines night. We're lucky to have a table at Pura Tierra, and that night, they're serving a 5 course meal. And a bottle of wine included. Result, a dinner without a character and in a kinda of rush. It was ok, but we expected much more. Maybe on a regular night we can... More

Pura Tierra was recommended to us by the owners of a B&B in Buenos Aires. I want to preface this review by saying we chose a 9 course tasting-meal. There was an option for a 5 or 6 course meal, or traditional ala carte menu selection. With that said, we were up for a marathon meal experience. The 9 course... More

First off make sure your taxi driver knows where this place is as the streets can be tricky. Reservations are a must and the table is yours for the night. Our group of 15 was at two tables and everyone in the group loved the place. Half the group did the eight course meal with wine pairing that ended up... More

Chef Martín Molteni is a true professional and I was thrilled to be able to spend a bit of time with him at his restaurant. Their philosophy is to be admired and their cuisine reflects their high standards. I participated in a group with their Discovering Traditional Argentine Cuisine Program and learned a great deal. Martín is very interesting and... More

Pura Tierra is located in the Belgrano district and is well worth a visit. The evening I was there they had just introduced a new menu and did not have it available in English but they happily translated it for us non-Spanish speakers. The food was innovative, the wine was great and the service was good. Apart from us everyone... More

I've been to Pura Tierra several times and I always want to go back. The decor is beautiful! The service is excellent. The food is great! The dishes are cooked to perfection and the garnishes include Argentinean ingredients. The wine list is great and the wine prices aren't too expensive. The description of the dishes on the menu is very... More

Setting perfect combo of industrial and old world charm. Warm attentive service accommodating both Spanish speaking diner (my friend) and English only diner (me). Food is creative and expertly prepared - some dishes bit lost with too many components (smoked salmon poached egg with baby greens didn't need pesto which would have been better served by lemon-herb viniagrette). Squid ink... More

Staying in Palermo

Neighborhood Profile
Palermo
Best known as the largest neighborhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. The high-end quarter is Palermo Chico, characterized by magnificent mansions, regal avenues, and exclusive apartment buildings, and home to the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), a favorite amongst locals. The largest park in the city, the Bosques de Palermo, is Palermo's most famous landmark and a popular destination for nature walks, picnics, rollerblading, and cycling. The scene becomes much trendier in Palermo Soho, a hip area known for its cool cafés and unique design stores, filled with shoppers on weekends; and Palermo Hollywood, renowned for the numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make it the preferred spot for nights out and special occasions.
