Our only issue was that the menu was written on a microchip and you need very strong reading glasses to go. But it lived up to it's reputation as one of Argentina's premier steakhouses! Richly paneled in dark wood, it reminded my companion of steakhouses around Chicago's stock yards. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the steak was superb!... More

We've been to this restaurant on Dec 30 and put a name in the waiting list since we had no reservations. Big crowd waiting and hoping to get a table outside this place as well as outside the other La Cabrera at the corner. At 8.45 / 9.00 the hostess at the door starts calling names on the waiting list.... More

We went to La Cabrera for dinner at the end of December 2014. We were very much looking forward to our steak dinner at La Cabrera due to the reviews we had read and because many of the locals we spoke with had said La Cabrera was THE place to go for the best steak. La Cabrera was a big... More

This is one of the best steak houses in Buenos Aires. The food was fantastic, and while steaks other places can be quite varied in quality this was all consistently fabulous. To accompany the gorgeous meat, the have a large selection of tiny sides free of charge, rather than diners having to select each their own sides. Picking from this... More

You don't need to order side dishes since they come along non-stop together with huge portions of meat. Waiters are very attentive, and the meat is above average.

We had heard of La Cabrera from some guide books and other publications. We were very excited to go and made reservations through our hotel. I must say to their credit they had advised us this was very much s tourist trap and recommended other steak restaurants they felt were better. We chose to go anyway and were very disappointed.... In his book "Down and out in Paris and London" George Orwell wrote that, "sharp knives, of course, are the secret of a successful restaurant". I could not believe how blunt the knives were at La Cabrera. About as sharp as the wrong side of a knife. It ruined my whole experience, which was already tarnished because my friend and... More

This restaurant offers a vivacious atmosphere. The menu is typical of an Argentine steak house. The numerous bite sized sauces and relishes offered were distinctive. The largest size serving of bife de chorizo that we ordered was beautifully cooked, but more than a third of it was a hunk of fat!! Service was attentive.

Definitely a BA must visit from what I could gather...I was told and read, that a reservation was a must, but going to the restaurant solo I was initially told I was out of luck, but they managed to find a spot for me which I definitely appreciated... but definitely a bunch of tourists in there (like myself)...but all there... Firstly, one portion will serve two (unless maybe you are used to American sized portions). I had the chicken and my boyfriend had steak (2 pieces). Both were tasty enough but seriously way too much food. Each came with a potato and with the cover charge for bread and chorizo and blood sausage and the all you could eat salad... More
