Good Indian food

My family and I had dinner at Tandoor restaurant today. We were glad to meet the owner who catered to my mum's request of Jain food (no onion, no garlic). Food was pretty good and way better than I expected for Indian food in Argentina. We ordered butter naan, korma and paneer saag. Will definitely... read more

Would say in general one of the better Indian restaurants I have encountered however fell flat due to the lack of spice, unfortunately here in BA its almost impossible to find truly spicy food. As someone who enjoys spice I ordered one of the spicier dishes on the menu and would have considered it closer to mild in the US... More

Went here looking for a good Indian curry and sadly the curries were not quite up to scratch. I had the saag paneer and requested spicy but it came out and mainly tasted buttery. The naan was good as were the sauces to begin with. The service is also nice as is the general ambience. We may have chosen dishes... More

Pretty average Indian I thought. We asked for spicy but the curries came out very creamy and mild. They were tasty, but based on the prices and the reviews of Tandoor we were expecting better. Not really top notch curry and naan. More like what I might expect to get at a shopping mall food court. On the bright side,... More

I married a Sri Lankan, hence I know what real Indian food tastes like and Tandoor makes me feel like I'm visiting my in-laws for dinner. A cozy yet simple decoration that makes the dishes do all the talking! We noticed at least 8 indian people eating when that night. This means they go for "soul food" like my husband... More

Went here as it's owned by a friend's cousin and thought I'd try out the cuisine being a fan of Indian food. The food was of excellent quality but given there were only 3 tables occupied, 10 minutes to give me a menu was a little too long. Overall great food though. Will definitely dine here again.

Went to Tandoor with 3 other friends, one Indian, while the other two were Europeans. I wanted to introduce them to Indian cuisine and thereby took them to Tandoor. Firstly, the service is very slow. We had to wait at least for 45-50 mins after placing our order. The food was good but not anywhere close to the real taste... More

We went to this place on 10th March, 2015 for lunch. From Santa Fe, main road, this place was within a walking distance and we reached this place around 12 noon. We were greeted by an Argentinian who was well versed in Indian food. They had one set menu for lunch which we found adequate. The place was chic and... More

We really enjoyed this Indian restaurant. The food was delicious and very authentic. The atmosphere was very nice and wait staff was great. The price was great for the meal (a lot cheaper than we expected when we walked in and saw the seemingly fancy setup). We ate there twice during our two week stay in Buenos Aires.

We were sick of having steak and pasta in BA and were looking for some other options. Tandoor is in a great location, on an intersection at Barrio Norte and hard to miss. Our flight was leaving in a few hours and we wanted to be seated before they officially opened. The owner (Pali) was extremely nice, one of the... More

Staying in Recoleta

Neighborhood Profile
Recoleta
Characterized by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighborhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centered on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.
