Great atmosphere and food

Great ambiance in this place. Staff were very friendly and at least one spoke English when our questions couldn't be understood. Pizzas great and adding a salad made it a wholesome meal. A complimentary lemon sorbet style drink finished the meal off nicely. Reasonable prices - would recommend.

We had a fabulous time eating and drinking our way in BA. Towards the end of our trip, we needed a casual setting that served simple meals ( that weren't beef related), and we were recommended to go to Piola. The pizza was thin crust, the salads full of vegetables, and the beer ice cold! Just perfect! The service was... More

We were looking for somewhere casual to go in Buenos Aires and chose Pizza Pialo, which proved to be the perfect pick. Staff was very friendly, pizza was very good. Bar drinks we had weren't great, but the bottle of wine after definitely was. As well the appetizers were ok, but the bread they offered ahead was definitely the best... More

Pizza is very nice, lovely ambience, very nice service (which is not easy to find in Argentina), desserts are outstanding. Will definitely go there again. Prices are affordable.

We ate here several times in February and March. Whilst probably not the best Italian food we have ever eaten it was good and reliable. It was also a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere and came at a reasonable price even with a glass of wine or beer as well.

Service in BA can be a little slow so if you are looking for fast service, great music, chilled atmosphere and tasty food Piola is the place to go. We went there pretty much every weekend for their lunch meal deal where you pay about 40 pesos for a 3 course meal and drink.

After the usual pools of melted cheese that pass for pizzas in BA, the thin crust pizzas at Piola are a real treat. Pastas are flavorful and well done. Great salads too. When I first entered here, I was worried that the emphasis would be on the hip décor and (loud) music, but I was pleasantly surprised. Some of the... More

A second choice one night after not wanting to wait for an hour nearby. Waited about 15 min at around 10 pm, enjoying music. Reasonable pizza-many choices. Did not realize it was a chain- did not have the feel of one. Large pizza around 95-110. $AR with good salads. Would come back for a mother casual meal.

Staying in Retiro

Neighborhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighborhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
