Nice lunch on the square.

I had lunch here in 2008 the day I was touring the cemetery. Very nice spot to sit outside, enjoy the warm weather and sip some fine Argentinian scotch on the rocks and watch the people amble by. I had a grilled chicken filet (gotta' take a break from the steak once in a while) and some empanadas... read more

Maybe the value meal we've ever had. I had steak (what else) medallion on mushrooms and I kid you not, it was the size of our Sunday roast. I never thought I'd manage to eat the whole thing, but it was so nice. A terrific selection of wines, and do try the Pisco Sours. Very friendly staff and the place... More

This was one of the restaurants we chanced upon and decided to try partly due to the Trip Advisor sticker proudly displayed at the door. Ambience was cosy and service quite attentive as per most restaurants experienced in South America. We were given a shot glass each of a welcome drink. As we were not that hungry, 3 of us... More

As it was beside our hotel we had lunch there one day. The food was good, but not outstanding. The service in the other hand was awesome. It is a traditional place and it has tables outside, which is nice despite the homeless kids asking for money.

Our food was pretty average and my meal was actually cold. Service was okay but not super. We wouldn't go back as there are probably others better.

This restaurant is one of many in the park facing the Recoleta Cemetery. My wife and I had lunch there and found the food to be unremarkable for the price. Her smoked salmon salad consisted of greens that should have been trimmed of their large stems, accompanied by pieces of salmon that had been poorly sliced. My Neapolitan sandwich was... More

We stopped here for dinner on our first night in Buenos Aires and really enjoyed it. We got a lovely warm welcome from Maciel and he looked after us very well all evening. I had a mushroom risotto and for my taste there was too much mushroom and not enough rice. Having said that, there were five different types of... More

We're highly snobbish about our coffee, and when a former resident of BA said "Try this, it's where I got my morning coffee," off we went. Very lovely place for watching the strollers along the edge of the park. Coffee is very good, cafe con leche is my choice. Good service.

Matured steak, exactly the way we wanted it! Getting rare steak in Buenos Aires is difficult as they only understand cremation! Fantastic!

We stopped here along the way to walking around the park and enjoyed some beer and empanadas. The food was great and the location was nice. We sat outside and enjoyed our meal. The waiters speak a little bit of English so if you are coming from the states this may be helpful.

Staying in Recoleta

Neighborhood Profile
Recoleta
Characterized by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighborhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centered on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.
