Great meat!

We were really pleased with our meal at Don Julio. The food and service are fantastic. If you get there early (before 9PM,) you can get in without a reservation.

So delicious. We turned up on a Friday night without a reservation. We had to wait 30min for a table but were given a complementary glass of wine while we waited. The thick cut bife de chorizo was cooked perfectly. We also ordered the house salad and fries. So good. Our only complaint is that we waited until our last... More

Eat the previous evening at La Cabrera and was sorely disappointed. However the reviews of Don Julio have this place nailed. After eating steaks around the world at some of the best steak houses, this place almost brought a tear to my eye. Beautiful decor, attentive staff, great wine list (the Altamira de los Andes Reserve Malbec is top notch... More

We had lunch at DJ were we ate meat and pasta. The sirloin was big and cooked great. The pasta al dente and had a great flavour. The service was friendly and accomodating. Felt professional! We ended up ordering take away for our last night in BA. The staff remembered my wife and asked about our two kids. Super nice!

We were excited to visit this highly rated parrilla. I have to admit We were disappointed. It wasn't bad at all, just nothing great. The empanadas were good, but there are better at many other places. The steak... The portions were large. They weren't particularly flavorful. They weren't tough but by no means tender. The service was fair to poor.... More

They treated my children like kings, and created a wonderful memory for us!! Upon a second visit, the staff remembered us, gave hugs and inquired about the boys. Truly unique and exceptional!

We had heard a lot about Don Julio, and were not disappointed. We went for lunch on a weekday and it wasn't difficult to get a table. We heard that reservations are a must for dinner (unless you walk in early before all the Argentinians eat dinner). The steaks were cooked to perfection and fabulously juicy and textured. We had... We arrived early (by Argentinean standards) at 8PM, but had to wait about 20 minutes for a table because we did not have reservations. Loads more people arrived after us, so the suggestion is to get there early or have reservations. In any event, the staff handed out champagne to everyone on the street waiting for a table, which was... More

Good, real Argentine food in Palermo. We were able to get a table quickly, but it was packed and clearly very popular. The atmosphere is not typical for Palermo (not trendy or fancy), but they put all of their attention to the food. If you are a carnivore, get steak (obviously). If you are a pescatarian, get the salmon. They... More

Staying in Palermo

Neighborhood Profile
Palermo
Best known as the largest neighborhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. The high-end quarter is Palermo Chico, characterized by magnificent mansions, regal avenues, and exclusive apartment buildings, and home to the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), a favorite amongst locals. The largest park in the city, the Bosques de Palermo, is Palermo's most famous landmark and a popular destination for nature walks, picnics, rollerblading, and cycling. The scene becomes much trendier in Palermo Soho, a hip area known for its cool cafés and unique design stores, filled with shoppers on weekends; and Palermo Hollywood, renowned for the numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make it the preferred spot for nights out and special occasions.
