Excellent beef. Plentiful, if mediocre appetizers. Great salad.

I went for lunch and had a lot of expectations due to all of the positive reviews. It was great, but there are quite a few great steak houses in BsAs. I would be happy to go back, but I won't go out of my way for it.

The Don Julio restaurant has a lovely ambiance, very attentive staff and like everyone says a mouthwatering menu. Potion sizes are large - in high-insight we could have shared a steak. The wine list is extensive so we sought advice from the waiter. For us it was a little dear (t-bone steak is 240 & fries about 70/75) but we... More

This restaurant is well worth a visit when in Buenos Aires. The steak is amazing. There is a lot of choice on the menu. Steak was cooked to perfection. Service was very good too. Only negative was the lack of choice with regard to white wine. I just wanted a glass and there was only one option. It was a... More

I'm not a meat lover, and knowing that this place specializes in meats, didn't expect anything special. I ordered stuffed pasta, which was delicious. But make sure to leave some room for a dessert - "suspiro porteño" is a must! Make a reservation ahead of time.

As a local, I´ve been to Don Julio maybe 6 or 7 times (I live 1.5km away). It´s an upscale parrilla in Buenos Aires, but things are truly well done and it´s worth every cent. Empanadas, fried potatoes and proveletas and superb. Grilled meat is top quality here and skillfully cooked. Very good wine selection, reasonably priced. If I had... More

Great beef and wine choices right next to our hotel. Nice touch to serve champagne while waiting for your table. Make sure to write your personal message on your empty wine bottle to include on their wall!

Must visit when you are in Argentina. Best restaurant we visited in South America. Beef empanadas were the best we have ever had. I had the t-bone rare, it was perfecto. My better half had the thick sirloin medium, also cooked to perfection. The chips were delicious. The wine was delicious, Malbec - 1st class. Decorated out bottle and they... More

This choice was through investigation before we went and a friend who had been in BA for a month... We couldn't book for the night we wanted.. But where told if we turned up early7pm we could eat. Most people like to eat at the earliest 9pm. You just have to have steak. End of!! I'm not a huge fan... More

Our Wine Tour ended at Don Julio and we ended up being able to reserve a table for that evening. The food was excellent and the whole atmosphere was memorable.

Staying in Palermo

Neighborhood Profile
Palermo
Best known as the largest neighborhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. The high-end quarter is Palermo Chico, characterized by magnificent mansions, regal avenues, and exclusive apartment buildings, and home to the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), a favorite amongst locals. The largest park in the city, the Bosques de Palermo, is Palermo's most famous landmark and a popular destination for nature walks, picnics, rollerblading, and cycling. The scene becomes much trendier in Palermo Soho, a hip area known for its cool cafés and unique design stores, filled with shoppers on weekends; and Palermo Hollywood, renowned for the numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make it the preferred spot for nights out and special occasions.
