Description: LA CABAÑA is the most traditional restaurant in Buenos Aires. Established...
LA CABAÑA is the most traditional restaurant in Buenos Aires. Established in 1935, it serves the best Argentine beef on the grill accompanied by excellent wine, a menu that turned La Cabaña into a source of inspiration for local cooking and that has been widely replicated all over the town.We invite you to enjoy any of our grilled beef cuts and, if you are willing to wait for an hour, you can have a unique experience tasting our classic "Great Baby Beef" - we suggest you do, savoring a glass of wine and in nice company. You do not get to know the purest Argentine cuisine without visiting our restaurant.

Great Chittlins

If you like Chittlins, sweet breads, blood sausage and kidneys you'll love this place. I'm not a big fan of any of those. But the steak was very good. Ask for Juan great waiter and took the time to answer all our questions and provide onsite into the town of BA. I love the location , it's right... read more

Inn the mid 1950's a group of USAF personal were flying support for the U-2 aircraft from BA. When I think of great meals over the past 55 years, I think of La Cabana and the baby beef and baked Alaskan. Thanks for the memories. A dinning experience for the ages.

This was my third visit in this restaurant and two first times I took "Lomo" steak. Please have a look on my previous review. "Lomo" was great. This time I wanted to take something different and I chose chicken. I should never have done that. There was no marinade nor any spices on the chicken and it was grilled far... More

From my other reviews, you can tell I am a Steak lover. On my recent trip to Buenos Aires, I stopped by La Cabaña, at Puerto Madero. It had been a few years i have visited this Steakhouse, in fact it had been at its previous location, near the Alvear Hotel. What can I say, the Steak was superb! Black... More

Excellent food and customer service!! Much variety of meats and the presentation was really good. The way the meats were cooked was in English style so cooked to perfection!! They know what they were doing!! Ask for the chorizo de campo and the Ojo de bife...

La Cabana's setting is reminiscent of rural Argentina- old world iron chandeliers and other antiques abound. The view of the waterfront from the outdoor patio is spectacular and it is heated so it's ideal even on cooler nights. We ordered steaks and a salad- it came with a great amuse bouche: empanadita, spoon of chicken soup, and cracker with cheese.... More

We went to La Cabana on the Waterfront at Puerto Madero on a recommendation from some discerning neighbours and friends. We were not disappointed. Excellent location with table, if you want, outside overlooking the water and the general quiet ambience of this area, just 10 minutes in a taxi from downtown BA. Thought the wine list was particularly good and... More

We ate there on February 2015. The place was really nice. It looked like a living room in a ranch. There were nice walls and carpets and it was not too big, felt like home. The service was okay but it would have been better if the waiters had been more awake. Food was excellent, best stakes we had in... More

We ate at La Cabana our first night in Buenos Aires (first ever in S. America) expecting the legendary fabulous steaks - and were not disappointed. Excellent quality food, well presented and perfectly cooked. Not cheap at towards £100 for 2 people ( aperitif drinks and canapés, salads, steaks, and an excellent Malbec) - but making payment with dollars (rather... More

Staying in Puerto Madero

Neighborhood Profile
Puerto Madero
From its refurbished red brick buildings and port cranes to its modern skyscrapers and luxurious apartment buildings, Puerto Madero is the perfect combination of old and new. The river provides a quiet, relaxing atmosphere that contrasts with the hustle and bustle of heavy traffic just blocks away. Across the river, flanked by skyscrapers, are beautiful parks and quiet streets that make this neighborhood a unique destination in a city as busy as Buenos Aires. The restaurants, bars, and nightclubs on the docks make it a prime spot for nights out and have come to symbolize this area. Puerto Madero is even more striking after dark, when the lights from the docks and skyscrapers glow against the night sky.
