We stayed at the Hyatt and heard amazing things about Dunhau. We made a reservation the day of and had an excellent dinner. We loved the fusion of Argentine and French style. We had one of the best meals of the vacation here.

The St. Valentine’s Day dinner at the Duhau Restaurant has to rate as the most memorable St. Valentine evening we have ever spent. The romantic ambiance on the terrace of the restaurant, dining by candle light, with the façade of the old Palace lit up in red and white and the superb group of musicians and singer, who were situated... In the Hilton hotel, the restaurant is on the lower level as we came in the front. It is understated but warm and welcoming as we entered the bar area that was decorated in a contemporary style. We were greeted warmly by the hostess in English, which we found almost never the case given the number of Brits and Americans... More

We started our dinner here, with a great Argentine Malbec and two impressive cheeses, before moving to the Gioia restaurant for dinner. The staff was very helpful, offering to transfer our wine and water to the restaurant after our cheese tasting. The transfer didn't go as well as it could (my wife's wine glass was emptied, not transferred, and the... More

At the recommendation of my hotel I went for a wine & cheese tasting at the Park Hyatt - Palacio Duhau. Much to my surprise I was not in a group tasting (I was traveling solo) but I was seated at a table by myself on their beautiful terrace. Their sommelier, Miguel, came to my table and asked me what... More

This traditional Belle Epoque mansion, former residence of the Duhau family has been recycled into a magnificent hotel. The main house has been kept but adapted to its present function and a modern building has been separately added, accross the beautifully landscaped garden as not to interfere with the old one. There is a passage connecting both with a permanent... More

We had high hopes for the meal but were very disappointed. The starter of sweetcorn brulee sounded promising but in execution, it was sickly sweet and totally missed the mark. The highly anticipated steak looked fantastic (see photo) but was tough and completely tasteless. The desserts were poor with one containing what appeared to be bits of bread. Despite much... More

My wife and I did a private wine tasting and it was quite nice. We each picked out a different region of Argentina to taste. In addition to the wines, the "Cheese Master" selected a cheese to pair with each glass sampled. It was both fun and educational.

Duhau is an outstanding gourmet restaurant that happens to be located in a hotel. There are both tasting menus and a la carte offerings. During the entire dinner there was not a single food we had tasted before. From a chilled gazpacho that had been turned into foam, throughout the whole evening, everything had been prepared differently than we had... More

Staying in Recoleta

Neighborhood Profile
Recoleta
Characterized by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighborhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centered on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.
