Creative and tasty

The place was recommended because of the wine list, but the food ended up be a pleasant surprise. We had a fix menu, as larger than 8 people groups have to stick with that. I understand the pros from a management point of view, but found it annoying. Food was well executed, with interesting ideas... read more

Amazing food, well worth the price. Can easily see why they are amongst the 10 best restaurants in SA.

Beautiful location is the biggest plus-point-not to undermine the excellent quality of food and very professional service by the staff who are extremely well-versed with the dishes and the wines being served. Prices are reasonable if you look at the status of the restaurant (I was told it was rated as one of the Top Ten Best Restaurants in South... More

Very disappointing, was not convinced that this is a top 10 restaurant in SA. Only good thing was the wine list and the very friendly and helpful hostess. Will take a lot to go back and try it again, just to pricey.

The service, food and wine knowledge of our waitron, Vision, could not be faulted. The food and wine pairings were superb and chef Michael Broughton excelled in all dishes. The smoked duck with chestnut puree was exceptional and the prawn risotto was out of this world - my favourite. The pork belly with extra dry crispy crackling complimented by herbed... More

We stopped for lunch on the way to Franschhoek, and were not disappointed. This was our second visit to Terroir and the food was spectacular again. The lovely Irish restaurant Manager was very friendly and attentive, as were the waiting staff and our table next to the fire was perfect. Highly recommended.

It's hard to get away from top dining when in the Cape winelands. We've been working our way through the best of the best, and this one belongs up there. Intimate, unassuming interior with a crackling fire. Very attentive service and simply awesome food. We had the prawn risotto- really good and the tortellini with duck - could die for... More

We dropped in for lunch (pre-booked) after a morning of wine tastings at a few of the vineyards in the valley. The Provencial-inspired chalkboard menu has a delight of foods that are inspired by the region produce. Each of the menu options were accompanied by a suggestion of local wines that would go well with the dish. The service was... More

Probably one of the best dining experiences you'll find in the Stellenbosch Winelands. The ultimate fine dining experience... A "must do" if you're in the area (oh... and if you manage to get a booking!)
