We invite you to join us at the Restaurant Clos Malverne for the ultimate Food and Wine Experience. Our Restaurant offers you an utterly enjoyable intimate and friendly dining experience in unpretentious but beautiful surroundings. It is not surprising that the bulk of our clientele are people who have been here before as well as their friends and colleagues who have recommended it. As you dine, you and your guests will enjoy an unbelievable vista of the softly sweeping vineyards and rolling hills of Devon Valley - so reminiscent of their English counterpart - and the pastel-coloured mountains behind them. It is an incomparable view that will help create a pleasurable and utterly memorable experience. You'll also enjoy fine gourmet dishes prepared by Executive Chef, Nadia Louw-Smith, renowned for her impeccably-prepared and delicately spiced dishes that seduce the palate. She is one of the most experienced chefs in the country and has been voted Chef of the Year for her sublime dishes. It is not surprising then, that Clos Malverne restaurant has become a favourite of gourmands and has received rave reviews from critics and clients, both in South Africa and abroad. Our kitchen closes at 15:00.

There is no better introduction to the winelands than the wine paring menu at Clos Malverne. It offers six different wines along with a great food menu - all at a very reasonable price. The new menu is sightly Asian inspired, a welcome departure from the traditional European style cuisine most other places offer. I loved the mussles in a... More

We joined some friends for a leisurely Easter lunch. Although our table was the largest (+- 20 people) the service was still slick. Food was delicious. Enjoyed the Springbok loin. Wine pairing was very generous (will have to hire a taxi next time). Surroundings are really beautiful. Great value for money.

We had a fabulous meal on Easter Sunday. We had only just arrived from the uk but decided we would go out and celebrate! The wine/tasting menu did not disappoint. We had a gorgeous glass of bubbly to start (we liked it so much we bought a bottle) and a wonderful four course meal. Excellent value and an amazing view.

It is our second visit. Like our first, the food had been sublime. We had duck, springbok steak and a sticky toffee desert. The matching wines were a perfect fit, and the scenery matched the food and wine. Highly recommended.

We chose the food pairing with wine as had followed reviews. Very disappointing food, sent back the Asian pulled pork salad. After several mediocre courses we wondered what the hype was about. The hostess who told us she was the chef apologized and said that they weren't really a fine dining restaurant. However, we would have been satisfied with flavorful... More

Apparently rated as one of Stellenbosch's best & certainly lived up to this. Outstanding value (we had the set menu which had several options for each of 4 courses), delicious food/wines & wonderful views across the valley

I came across Clos Malverne by chance as I was looking to arrange a spa day for me and my other half whilst we were staying in Stellenbosch. Having enjoyed a lovely four course meal for only R298 per person. I decided that this was one of my favourite restaurants. And, as they remind you in the menu, included in that price is a glass of wine with every course and a glass of bubbly on arrival. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. Although the portions are... More

I booked lunch a good 1-2 months in advance. We were pleased to be rewarded with a great table by the balcony front. Views were amazing. We had the food and wine pairing menu which was great value. As was the case almost everywhere we went in Stellenbosch, wine was lovely and the food was of a high standard too.... More
