Maybe the best lunch I've ever had

I'd previously eaten at the bakery for lunch, and not remembered it as remarkable. It was good, but so are so many places in the area. Definitely a highlight of my year. The setting was really beautiful - I only wish we could have spent time sitting on the lawns post our lunch to soak in the atmosphere. Our meal was top notch. The balance of wholesomely delicious and incredibly creative was spot on. I appreciated the friendly, professional and knowledgeable service. You have to try... More

I highly recommend this place to travelers wanting to have a great meal, with wine, overlooking a dam and enjoying the stunning scenery. Service is slow during peak times, but food excellent.

Adjacent to the Jordan Restaurant, is The Bakery. It is a more casual setting, if you do not have a large appetite that George Jardine's menu offers. Having had your meal though, relaxing for desert on the deck is well worth a try. The deck, with the shade from the trees, was most welcome. As much as I avoid sugar... More

I travel extensively and have eaten at many Michelin starred restaurants all around the world. Went to Jordan for lunch, had a 3-course menu with wine as suggested by the waitor. Excellent presentation, lovely food and lovely wine. Great ambience. I still have fond memories of it and will definitely go back on my next visit to Cape Town.

It seems like my review is going to be very different from the majority of the other reviews, but here it is nevertheless: we visited this famous restaurant blast week after it has bene recommend by several friends. We called one day at 1,45 PM asking when was the kitchen closing and were told at 2PM, so we made a... More

Ten years after our first visit to Jardin's we went back to George and had dinner at Jordan's in March 2015: He belongs to the best and his cooking is still outstanding: the veal liver as well as the haddock and the springbock has been perfectly prepared; the sauces tasted delicous and the presentation of the plates has been very... Sitting outside on the deck enjoying a lunch at Jordan on a sunny Sunday afternoon was heavenly. My husband chose the beef fillet with smoked? bone marrow and he said it was his favourite meal of our holiday. The lemon poppy seed souffle is sublime. Service was good. The estate wines are delicious. Portions are big - we left feeling... More

We arrived to find the entryway a little confusing and no one waiting outside to greet us which was a little disconcerting as we thought we might have stumbled on the wrong place but on entering we were transported into a light and airy room buzzing and stylishly and tastefully simple - our evening was a delight. As the sun... More
