Breakfast at the bakery

Last day of our trip and we ended with breakfast here. Food was great and service was good. Stunning views over the dam and good coffee.

We loved everything about our meal at Jordan. Even my father, who cannot stand 'white tablecloth' restaurants, declared this to be one of the best meals he has ever eaten. Spectacular views - get there before sunset to enjoy. Every dish was outstanding, and service was fantastic throughout - helpful but at no point pretentious. Wine-list we found very well-priced... Close to Stellenbosch and within an easy drive from CapeTown, this is a hidden gem and certainly one of the best Vineyard based restaurants we've visited. Beautiful views, a great menu and superb attention to detail and service makes this restaurant an ideal venue for local and foreign visitors to the Cape. Reserve a table well in advance in order... Beautiful setting. Superb food. Meal was second only to the Test Kitchen in its quality, imagination, and flavor profile. Had a leisurely 2.5 hour lunch, looking down at the valley. All courses were great but two stand out. Chef prepared a duck leg that was moist and with an deep and subtle flavor. (will post some photos later) Most unusual... More

The location is stunning (be sure to visit DeMorgenzon beforehand for a wine tasting too) , and the food generally excellent and outstanding value. On this occasion we seemed to be missing the service element, no bread offered, no description of the plate of food put in front of us, and when we asked to take cheese and for the... More

We ate lunch at the bakery with a fantastic view from the decking. Lunch was initially spoiled by the diners on the table next to us thinking it was a great spot for a very loud Skype call on speaker but luckily they didn't stay long. The food and wine was good. Let down came at the end with rude... More

Glad we had GPS to find Jordan's bakery, but the car park showed that everyone else knew where it was! We had searched for a vineyard doing light platters for a lunch, Jordan's came up trumps. We had a mixed platter, cheeses and charcuterie with their breads, fruit and pickles, for sharing. An excellent choice. Another beautiful location in the... More

Great estate to visit for wine tasting and a meal. They have two restaurants one more upmarket, the other offering great breakfast, cakes and light lunches. Beautiful setting under the trees facing the large dam filled with ducks and birds. We went for coffee and cake and stayed for lunch!

We returned to Jordan for our second visit. It was a very hot day so we were pleased to have a table indoors. The service is first class with all the staff we met both friendly and knowledgeable. Our meal was delicious, beautifully presented and cooked. The trout gravadlax and fried veal sweetbreads both sensational. Main courses were confit and... More
