Fantastic view, Very good food

We were seated on the terrace of the restaurant overlooking the most gorgeous rose garden and mountains. I found out the restaurant is named after a previous owner that had a lot of airs and graces (self importance) so they nicknamed him Lord Neethling. When I first read the menu there wasn't... read more

The food and service was good enough as well as the ambience of the restaurant. We were a table of FOUR people. When the Bill came it listed the items we had but right in the middle of the Bill was Service Charge! Why was this, did we have to pay Tax on this too? Normally for any restaurant Service... More

We had lunch on the Terrace in front of the Orangery. Sitting in the shade of oak trees with family groups all around, this is a stunning location with views across the gardens towards the Simonsberg Mountains. It's a traffic free zone and the tables are spaced far enough apart to make it family friendly. Unlike certain other wine farms,... More

Both the specials for the day and the regular a la carte lunch menu provided good value for money. The prices of the estate's own wines are particularly good. Members of our small group ordered from both menus and no one was disappointed. Portions were ample, tasty and acceptably presented. A pleasant outing. I personally wouldn't go for the buffet...unless... More

How very very disappointing Hard to tell the difference between an M4 UK Motorway Stop and this place What a let down Buffet Christmas Lunch, more like a bad match day at Sheffield Wednesday and the smell , It was like Old McDonald's farm as soon as you entered This has been the only restaurant in the Winelands , over... We have been to Lord Neethling a number of times and chose to drop in for lunch i route to Cape Town. It was heavily booked and we appreciated the staff finding a space for us out side regardless. The food was very tasty. My wife had fettuccine and I had a tasty Chicken wrap. The staff were friendly as... More

We had booked for Christmas lunch. We had no idea that the restaurant at 12.10 pm would be heaving with loads of children and large families. The lunch was buffet (not advertised as a Buffet lunch) and the place looked like a Rugby scrum. The buffet looked so awful we just left. No staff had come us to ask us... More

It was nice to see some of the old faces who have been at this establishment for several years. Te service is still good, and the wine enjoyable. The place has been redecorated and I am assuming, still has to be completed. My first choice - the fish Kingklip dish, although on the board, was not available. I took a... More

Before diner we had a tasting of 5 wines in the wine cellar. Very good wines for very affordable prices. And delivery in Europe. Since we were with a large group of 22 we had a set menu with choice if meat or fish for the main. Starter was inspired by tapas, a bit of parma ham, smoked kudu and... More

we had a great evening at Lord Neethling. The service was excellent and the staff very friendly, which was awesome. The food was well presented and promtly served, but the food had no wow factor.
