Fantastic view, Very good food

We were seated on the terrace of the restaurant overlooking the most gorgeous rose garden and mountains. I found out the restaurant is named after a previous owner that had a lot of airs and graces (self importance) so they nicknamed him Lord Neethling. When I first read the menu there wasn't... read more

This was my second visit for the Sunday Buffet. A few changes has taken place since the first visit and I am afraid, the changes were not improvements. The range of available dishes is now smaller. Quality is still more than OK, but it used to be so much better. I was looking forward to the pickled fish, but is... More

What an awesome venue overlooking the garden with the roses in bloom, oak tree leaves been shed and all the brown and red hues of the vineyards too stare at. The service was exceptional with a great menu choice with lots of variety and reasonably priced, similarly with the wines. Awesome venue with great food, delectable wine and attentive staff... More

Well, our tour operator setup an Indian meal for us at this vineyard. It was a wrong choice. And then the chef had prepared beef, which is a sentimental issue for Indians. It wasnt the fault of the restaurant but of the tour operators. They did their best to make us comfortable, but we left unsatisfied. Couldnt help it. The... More

It was my second time visiting the restaurant fortunately they were not fully booked unlike every other wine estate in the vicinity we had not pre booked. Sitting on the stope was great except that the laid table right down to the glassware was dusty, wind blown. The service was a bit slow but friendly and relaxed. The food was... More

The food and service was good enough as well as the ambience of the restaurant. We were a table of FOUR people. When the Bill came it listed the items we had but right in the middle of the Bill was Service Charge! Why was this, did we have to pay Tax on this too? Normally for any restaurant Service... More

We had lunch on the Terrace in front of the Orangery. Sitting in the shade of oak trees with family groups all around, this is a stunning location with views across the gardens towards the Simonsberg Mountains. It's a traffic free zone and the tables are spaced far enough apart to make it family friendly. Unlike certain other wine farms,... More

Both the specials for the day and the regular a la carte lunch menu provided good value for money. The prices of the estate's own wines are particularly good. Members of our small group ordered from both menus and no one was disappointed. Portions were ample, tasty and acceptably presented. A pleasant outing. I personally wouldn't go for the buffet...unless... More

How very very disappointing Hard to tell the difference between an M4 UK Motorway Stop and this place What a let down Buffet Christmas Lunch, more like a bad match day at Sheffield Wednesday and the smell , It was like Old McDonald's farm as soon as you entered This has been the only restaurant in the Winelands , over... We have been to Lord Neethling a number of times and chose to drop in for lunch i route to Cape Town. It was heavily booked and we appreciated the staff finding a space for us out side regardless. The food was very tasty. My wife had fettuccine and I had a tasty Chicken wrap. The staff were friendly as... More
