Value for money

The fish dishes are excellent and very tasty. A very good value for money. It is an easy going restaurant for families and friends, not the best atmosphere, but you get more for your money than in other fish restaurants.

As we are staying in the Stellenbosch area we were looking for somewhere for dinner. We were recommended "Jimmy the Fish" so we naturally had to try the fish. The menu is extensive though and you can get everything from Calimari to pizza and it all looked good as it was being served at tables around us. We chose a... More

Unfortunately the place did not live up to our expecations. All of the dishes where drenched in oil, fat or some heavy sauce (why would you put a dill sause on grilled calamari and not say so on the menu?!). The seafood platter turned out to be all fried and tasteless. All of the food had the distinctive feeling of... More

Went for a quick lunch during working hours. The service is very slow and you need to ask twice before anything happens. Waited 40 minutes to get food, but then my 1 hour lunch was almost over, so had to rush. The manager said that they gave our order to another table by mistake. This is unaccpetable, there is obviously... More

Not sure what is happening but this place, has gone from bring a great place to eat, to a disaster. The fish is over fried, oily, totally tasteless and a sloppy mess. They replaced mine with sushi, sushi now consist of a heap of rolled rice and a barely visible piece of seafood. The next day my husband suffered with... More

Jimmy Fish is the best option if you are looking for sushi. Their sushi is consistently good. The service is sometimes slow but the waiters are friendly and generally let you know when the sushi chef is running behind. The restaurant has a nice relaxed vibe and is ideal for lunch with colleagues or family.

although I've been enjoying eating here several times over the last couple of years, our last experience was nothing compared to the previous ones. although the restaurant was half empty we were shown a table in the far end corner, far away from the other customers. when I complained about this, we were shown a better table, but obviously our... If you want t good place to eat without piped music and friendly service, this is amazing value. We stayed at Webersburg wine Estate, as as they do not serve dinner, we opted to go into Stellenbosch, but saw this place on the way, it was so good we went back for a second meal the following evening!

You don't expect a great meal in a roadside location but after walking away from a disaster at Blaauklippen we were in desperate need of sustenance & jimmys more that provided. It's quite an achievement to offer a full repertoire including steak, pizza & sushi, but all were excellent.
