The Goat Shed does have a lot going for it, but I confess to being a little underwhelmed by the experience. This is one of those places that no matter what reviews it gets, it will still be visited by hordes. So if you are going there during the season, especially on a Sunday, make sure that you book. Which... More

In looking at one or two of the other reviews, I wonder that these naysayers were even in the same restaurant as we were. It was a gem of a place with huge varieties of food and wine all in a homey country kitchen atmosphere. We ate and drank like Kings and Queens and treated ourselves to a look around... More

Loved this peaceful, well run place. Beautiful old buildings. Great wine tasting. Excellent restaurant. Magestic goat posing for photographers.

This large restaurant, called The Goatshed (which used to be a wine cellar) extends to a verandah and then further to a vine-covered patio. We sat on the verandah which was beautifully cool on a very hot summer’s day. We had a light lunch comprising a meat platter and a cheese platter, accompanied by delicious freshly-baked bread and 200ml carafes... More

I visited this place (restaurant) the first time in Dec 2014, although I have been living in CPT for 25 y. For me, the place is overrated and overpriced. The food is not displayed the way I would like to see something that comes out of a professional kitchen. The cheese platter is better anywhere in Cape Town and surrounds.... More

Gorgeous light lunch of salads and goat cheese as well as home made breads on the lovely terrace with vines, lots of wines to choose from and there is a good deli too. Loved it would definitely go back again and try not to leave it another 16 years!

Fantastic wines and cheese and in the most beautiful surroundings. They have really got this just right and can cater for the many tourists and locals who flock there. There is a goat in a tower to welcome you when you arrive !!

We did the master wine tasting which was a great experience. Each wine was paired with a type of cheese, and we tasted the Fairview Olive Oil, which was delicious. The only critique was the very slow service as there was only one person dealing with all of the tables in the master wine tasting area.

A great experince of wine pairing. Under the guifance of one of the Best Sommeliers I have experienced , (Liaan), the best wine and cheese pairing I have experinced. Spoilt by tasting their Le Syrah red, paired with cream cheese and black pepper. Fantastic experience. Will be back.
