The Restaurant is set in a little village which includes shops, cafes, and is separate from the Barn and Tapas. It's changed a bit over the years. It was great food set in a simple setting. The food is just as good but the ambiance (and the prices) have moved a bit upmarket. It's still good value, with the recommended... More

Thanks for visiting our restaurant and for your feedback. The really good value option at the moment are the tasting menus, starting at R450 (Euro 32) ... four courses of food each expertly paired with local wines. We hope to see you again! More

My favourite restaurant. Never miss it during a visit to Cape Town and it has never disappointed. The spring taster menu was just superb. Pleasantly surprised by some of the wine pairings. Amazing how wine & food can interact, very clever!

Me and my wife had a reservation at Foodbarn as part of our day tour and enjoyed it a lot. We had their tasting menu (4 courses + dessert, with selected wines) and had dishes that were both tasty, inventive as well as looked good. Service worked well, too, allthough I might have expected a little better presentation of what... More

The description on the restaurant's own website is spot on - "delicious, decadent 'fine-dining' style food in a relaxed setting." We stumbled upon The Foodbarn on a drive around the Cape of Good Hope and it was a highlight of the day. We enjoyed a fantastic 3-course lunch with wine pairing, and also loved the ambiance and decor of the... More

Great breakfast menu. Lively rustic atmosphere. Good Service, friendly place. Not a place i would take small children thought. Still getting used to having dogs in a restaurant too.

The Foodbarn delivers outstanding food in an unpretentious and accessible way. The lunch time three course special with wine paring is fantastic value and offers a wide range of menu choices. It is a firm family favourite of ours and we will definitely return. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable, the atmosphere relaxed and the food quite sublime. A real winner!

The Foodbarn restaurant (not the deli) never fails to deliver superb tasty food. The menu is tweaked but to our dismay, during the many years we have been coming here, always features ox tripe as the offal dish. Where is the ox tail? We hate tripe! That said, the mushroom ravioli was divine, the pasta so delicate it was a... More

Come on Tripadvisor: get this sorted out; there are 3 different Foodbarn Tripadvisor entries, each with different numbers of reviews. There’s a Food barn Restaurant and there’s a deli in a different building that also serves food during the day. No point in ratings which confuse 2 places run by the same person but doing quite different things. We went... More

I'm convinced that some of these reviews refer to the Foodbarn across the way. This is a much more laid back place with bare wooden tables, newspapers strewn around the place and a very comfortable atmosphere. Wish I could remember our waiters name, he was fantastic and amusing. We both had salad ( something I never do ) and they were... More
