Simply lovely

Simply the best most intimate eating experience, either for breakfast or tapas. The breakfasts and coffee never disappoints. Do be patient as they can be quite busy so you may need to wait for a breakfast table. The service is fast though. The tapas is divine. Esp the livers. Always a winner... read more

We had a family lunch at the Foodbarn on a Sunday and we walked away smiling! This restaurant should be on all of the Top Ten lists for Cape Town and South Africa as the food, the setting, the wine pairing and the prices are extraordinary. My only comment would be that the Kids menu and food did not inspire,... More

Noordhoek is a small village on the outskirts of Cape Town on the way south towards the Peninsula. This place is fine dining, but in a casual relaxed setting. The room is beautifully decorated and spacious. They have their own label of wine, which is quite good. The chef use to be at Constantia Uitsig. All our dishes were great.... More

Went here for lunch and wine. Very good food, big portions and nice presentation. Wine was not up to par. Good service. All in all a good experience.

I went to this restaurant for a birthday lunch and was very impressed. Everything looked amazing and all the courses I tried were delicious. The mains don't come with much starch and veggies but this was great for me as it allowed me to eat more courses. I had the prawn risotto for a main and tried two different desserts... More

We had dinner at the Foodbarn restaurant and were truly impressed by the level of service and quality of the food. I ordered the bouillabaisse, entree, the tuna(rare), main and the chocolate terrine, dessert. They were all incredibly tasty dishes and exquisitely presented. The standout for the evening would have to be the stone fruits and berries, squashed verbena marshmallow,... More

I'm trying to be fair here; although I've rated this establishment as 'Very Good' and say that I (we) will revisit - the jury, frankly, is still out. Perhaps my appetite wasn't as sharp as it might have been - we'd had lunch (indifferent pasta) down on the V&A Watefront earlier in the day. But we were meeting friends for... More

We had the pairing menu. Quite a good selection and four courses was more than enough. For the expense, though, I'd not say the food was first rate. Overall it was a lot heavier, with cream, than we're used to these days. The monkfish was rather bland, and the sauce didn't help - it was also, for my taste, much... More

Arrived during the week for a lunch, very nice outdoor seating available. Gets very busy, but we arrived early so no need for a reservation. Made our 3 course lunch menu, with two starters and one main, had a special of with 50% off - highly recommended. Tasty food and very nice presentation on your plate. We were very happy... More
