Good food and service

What can be said that has not been said before... if its your first night in Knysna then this is a pretty decent place to have dinner/supper. Let's put this into context, if you were to visit this restaurant in London overlooking the Thames the meal would cost £120. Here watching the boats moor, enjoying a local beer and oysters for three courses plus a bottle of good wine, steak, prawns, calamari, oysters, cheese board in an amazing part of the world cost just £65 for two.... This was a very good choice of restaurant. Good choice of menu both fish and meat dishes, at very good reasonable prices. Good service and don't forget the pudding!

There are many fine restaurants in Kynsna but the Drydock is up there as one of the best for the freshness and quality of their food, service and location right on the Knysna Quays. Also excellent value.

Despite some bad recent reviews on trip adviser, my wife and I decided to dine here. We received sound and professional service. My wife's meal was exquisite. My only gripe was that my lamb curry was not a curry at all. Perhaps "lamb stew" would have been the better appellation. It lacked any hint of heat, although the taste was... More

We were looking for a cold beer and light lunch and we were satisfied on all counts. My phyllo pastry starter was tasty and my partner enjoyed his sushi. They have a number of beers on tap. The position is good overlooking the boats. The service was very pleasant and quick. Recommended.

Our booking was made by our guest house and although the location is great, right on the waterfront, the food was average. My partner had fish which was good but I had peri peri chicken which was dry, overcooked and lacking flavour. Ice cream for dessert tasted like cheap supermarket ice cream. Don't think I would return with such a... More

Several days into our South African holiday, I'm afraid to say that we had already experienced better food and service than we had here. Reommended by our accomodation owner, disappointingly the Drydock Food Co did not live up to the quality of our overnight stay. Very busy, somewhat hurried service, dense eating area (the view over the water is a... More

This restaurant has a wonderful location overlooking the bay with lots of covered outdoor seating . The service was pretty fast, I ordered seafood pasta and quite frankly it was enough for 2 with a massive amount of prawns, mussels, squid, white fish and langoustine in a creamy sauce! I suggest booking in advance if you want an evening meal,... More
