Great food & friendly service. We chose this restaurant after reading the reviews and it exceeded our expectations. From starter to pudding.....exceptional.

Delightful, warm and cozy! Felt at home the minute we walked in. This restaurant is on the Main Street, with friendly staff and a menu on a chalked board. A small menu, (yet plenty to choose from) explained in detail by our hostess, Lamb Chops and the Beef Fillet were our choice as main meals and were perfectly presented and... More

A wonderful restaurant on the main street, serving the best steaks I have ever tasted! We loved it so much we ate here for 2 nights of a 4 night stay on Thesens Island in Knysna. The owner, Ellen, is usually on duty and completely in charge! Her son is the chef, and is brilliant. The menu is small but... More

We dined at this restaurant on 2 of the 4 nights we were in Knysna - it was simply too good to resist! The atmosphere is very warm and cosy, which is certainly assisted by the very friendly and attentive staff. And the food has some unique twists and attention to detail that shows real care and passion from the... More

I loved the homely ambience created by the venue. Service was friendly, fast and met our needs to an excellent standard. We were talked through the menu on a blackboard which made the menu feel unique, which i really enjoyed. The food was.. Fantastic. Delicious starter and then a fillet steak main course! Wow! It makes my mouth water as... More

To sum up this restaurant - tasty, beautifully cooked, good quality food with great service in a smart but unpretentious setting. I recommend! My partner and I went here after seeing the good reviews on tripadvisor and we were not disappointed. There were about 6 starter choices (about r50) and 10 mains (r95-130) with something to suit everyone, helpfully explained... More

Great experience from the time we walked in. Friendly relaxed atmosphere and really made to feel welcome by the owner. Had bobotie spring roll starters which were delicious. Fillet with pepper/mushroom sauce and veggies all cooked to perfection. Not particularly cheap but you definitely have a memorable meal and experience

The owner is a very personable and passionate owner. We called late in the afternoon and was surprised there was a table available. The menu is small but filled with quality. I would not think there is a poor meal ever hits a table. If you are a "fussy" eater the menu may not suit you however there is something... More

We went to the Olive Tree during our visit in Knysna over the oyster festival in July (2014). It was highly recommended by more than one person so we thought we'd give it a try. It wasn't as great as I expected it to be. The menu was rather 'small' - and I understand that quality is better than quantity,... More
