La Vierge, French for 'The Virgin', is nestled in the folds of the breathtaking Hemel-en-Aarde Valley (Heaven and Earth) close to Hermanus. Our lovingly tended vineyards, situated in Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge, are characterized by long cool summers influenced by the close proximity of the Atlantic Ocean. Using sketches and drawings by renowned British artist, Sir Michael Adams who works and lives in the Seychelles, a design language was created that reflects the rich symbolism associated with the Hemel-en-Aarde area. Our crest represents Adam and Eve pondering the Serpent and Apple.

We arrived in the late afternoon and had the place to ourselves. We were impressed with the dining room setting and tasting room views. The four wines we tasted were superb especially the shiraz so we bought some to enjoy later. Do make plans to come here for lunch and wine tasting - you will not be disappointed.

Only tasted wines. Beautiful views and fun vibe. We did not eat there. Beautiful setting with stunning views. The menu looked limited but we would be tempted to spend more time there

Very nice restaurant with a lovely view. Reservations advised. We enjoyed a very nice meal, paired with a good wine. I may have given it 5 stars if the hours included a dinner seating. I feel it may be a bit pricy for a lunch spot when compared to so many other wineries in the region. Also, the service was... More

Ended up at this restaurant after my GPS let me down as we were referred to Creations restaurant. The place has an interesting interior and the cellar is stocking some good wines. My wife ordered a brisket hamburger at R125.00, the meat was dry and not at all tasty, left 2/3 on the plate. Luckily I didn’t ordered the Ox... More

We visited the LaVierge, primarily for a wine tasting which one pays for. Basically the wine waiter poured not even a mouthful of wine to taste and when changing from whites to reds, no fresh glass was provided. These are not inexpensive wines by any means and they really need to up their game. As for the restaurant, my wife... More

We visited the restaurant, 2 years ago, with overseas guests, the food was average, but we remembered a wonderful view. As we were out on the Harley, we decided to to take a ride through Hemel en Aarde and give the restaurant another go. Certainly not impressed, my wife ordered the prawn and calamari salad as a main course, she... More
