Description: La Vierge, French for 'The Virgin', is nestled in the folds of the breathtaking Hemel-en-Aarde Valley (Heaven and Earth) close to Hermanus. Our lovingly tended vineyards, situated in Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge, are characterized by long cool summers influenced by the close proximity of the Atlantic Ocean. Using sketches and drawings by renowned British artist, Sir Michael Adams who works and lives in the Seychelles, a design language was created that reflects the rich symbolism associated with the Hemel-en-Aarde area. Our crest represents Adam and Eve pondering the Serpent and Apple.

Nice venue, beautiful view and that's where it stops. Wine is nice but nothing special and the service is mediocre. Staff moved slower than the average sleep walker. Information about the wines where lines from a script learned by heart and glasses and wine bottles where carried around like a pair of old socks. Kitchen staff apparently gets confused by... More

I came here for lunch with my parents, the selections of wine was limited, we were served a tasting platter, which was totally over priced, and dried out offerings. The meal that followed was tasty enough, very small portions, and again over priced. The service was poor, and the room had a lovely view, but was so hot, and could... More

Having made a reservation months in advance and reading the reviews I was looking forward to trying out this restaurant with friends. Everything started off well with a wine tasting but thats when things started to go downhill. The waitress showed us to our table and after an average wait came back to take our orders. My husband was excited... More

Friendly staff seated us at a breath-taking view that compensated for the average main course. The real treat was dessert - pinotage sorbet blew us away. And the creme brûlée hit the spot.

We were pleasantly surprised by the great food! We haven't see the comments on trip advisor and just bumped into the place driving around. The waiters were quick and nice. The portobella was magnificent. So, yes it's really a place we would visit again.

Had lunch on 3 January with my family. We ordered starters, mains and desserts. Our waiter was Ridowaan and he served us exceptionaly well. Starters I had the risotto, with sage butter and butternut,it was a taste of Italy! Delicious! Main course was a funny one, we all had the Rib eye and the bold flavors that come out and explode after... More

Having been a regular diner at La Vierge in 2013 and 2014, I looked forward to taking our overseas guests for a nice lunch in lovely scenic surroundings. What a total disappointment it was and this was our first visit under the new restaurant management. The service was non-existent, the food took an age to be delivered, orders were mixed... More

Visited this lovely spot on the 29th of December and have no regrets. The beef starter was fantastic, I thoroughly enjoyed the cob dish and the crème brulee crowned it all. Add to that the gorgeous views and La Vierge chardonnay and it made for an exquisite day. I will definitely be back.

We heard that the" Tikka Boys" from Durban ,who won the "Ultimate Braai Master" competition bought the La Vierge restaurant in the Hemel and Aarde valley in Hermanus and we were thrilled! We invited two friends and immediately booked a table for lunch on the 20th of December. What a disappointment ! We waited very long to place our order... More

La Vierge restaurant is an established restaurant. The Tikka Boys has taken over ownership in December, in the heart of the crazy festive season. Like the Ultimate Braai Master, owning a restaurant is a major challenge and working progress. I do apologise for your bad experience but we are working on improving each an every aspect mentioned: present staff, food,... More
