The view is amazing but if you only have drinks the staff is extremely snotty. We went as a group and was first told to choose any table (even if only having drinks). Another waitress then told us that we can order drinks from her but we'll have to drink it outside the restaurant. Try The Burgundy instead - the... More

We had a delightful lunch here overlooking the ocean. Sadly there weren't any whales on this occasion but that didn't detract from our experience. Service was warm and friendly, the food did what it said on the tin. We left as happy campers.

Great place, don't go if it is cold…will be colder there : you are nearly dining in the sea! They are not open all day long nor all year…. Phone and ask, reserve. Ask for a place on the lower terrace if it is warm and if you want to have an eye on the whales !

Loved the experience not for the older folks though it is far down and steep up to walk but the view once there is stunning and the smell of the ocean literally washing over your feet is beautiful. the experience should not be missed at least once in a lifetime! The food is average and the drinks are a plenty!... More

A beautiful place to sit and enjoy being near the water but food and service let it down. Found service to be very slow and food expensive for the quality served

What a shame..this could be a fantastic place with the right staff. We turned up for a sunset drink..so yes we were not eating there and so not worth being nice to?! They only serve Castel lager which is the worst lager in the world and they wouldn't give me a glass for my sparkling water which is all I... More

This restaurant is all location, location and location, with it's almost on-the-water and away from the town above. Nothing fancy, really, but the food was appreciated and the service quick. It's a good place for friends or family to visit, but keep in mind that there are many, many stairs to get down to the restaurant and many, many stairs... More

This is a meal we remembered for the whales we saw just off the beach rather than for the quality of the food and sadly, the service. I say sadly because the waiter was friendly enough but really it was all a bit shambolic. As to the food, our cob fillets were ok but no more than that.Cant tell you about... More

This is a 'must' for us every time that we go to Hermanus. The food is fine (a good meal but not fine dining), but the setting is just extraordinary. There are few places in the world where you can eat good food with whales lazing in the waves about 200 meters away. OK, the prices are a bit higher... More
