I really do not like destructive critisism on Tripadvisor, however after visiting here two days ago I have to say the food was apalling. Along the Cape coast seafood is generally world class, however at Quaside Cabin this week it was the worst I have ever tasted. There are some great places to eat in Hermanus, but not Quayside.

This is a lovely little restaurant, we loved it, but it's not for everyone. This is for the casually dressed, casual diner & not for the smartly dressed ritz crowd. Located right on the little harbor. Reservations strongly recommended as they are understandably packed on week-ends. There are nicely cushioned wooden benches & decor appropriate for a casual, local seafood... More

We shared a fish platter for 2 at this lovely restaurant. The are right on the harbour with an amazing view of the sea and mountain. Excellent value for money and superb quality food, great service. Highly recommended and definitely worth a visit.

We have eaten here in the past and were impressed! This time around a starter with 2 samoosas, 2 small prawns and a fishcake-minute in size for R45...daylight robbery. The fish and chips were tasteless and a salad for 2, was a salad for 1 person only. Then they plonked down big bottles of balsamic vinegar and olive oil for... More

I have eaten here in the past and was quote impressed, unfortunately this time the food was disappointing. The prawns were dry and overcooked, my fish and chips was tasteless. The mussels were tasty, but only because they were bathed in garlic

We visited this rustic seafood restaurant twice in a week because we were so impressed. The portions were filling and a must try is the abelone and fish cakes. The staff is friendly and very helpful, recommending the local catch of the day to everyone. We will advise anyone to visit Quayside Cabin.

Delicious doesn't-get-fresher-than-this fish and seafood in a very rustic cabin in the harbour. Right on the water's edge. Lovely to see the boats coming and going. Great service. Out of the main hustle and bustle of the tourist area in Hermanus. Recommended for a very casual meal.

We've always made it a point whenever we visit Hermanus (from Montagu), on our own or with friends from up country, to take them to Quayside Cabin for a seafood treat. We must have been there at least half-a-dozen times over the past few years. The setting is 'different' but somehow enjoyable. This last time - a few weeks ago... More
