ENJOYABLE MEAL

We have visited this restaurant regularly over the past several years and have always found the food to be of an excellent standard, well prepared and nicely presented. Just don't go. The food was oily and greasy, the staff were rude and unhelpful (not just to us but we noticed to others who were braver than we were and walked out) and our view was of a plastic window rather than the table with fabulous views we had booked. The "cool" interior decorations look old and infested. Steer... More

Made several visits in the last month, return visits and found the food as stood s ever. Excellent calamari and fish dishes. Casual eating in a fun setting. Helpful staff and good value for money. Looking forward to return visits next year. Highly recommended.

A return visit after a couple of years - still as good as ever and great value for money. Service maintained despite a "power outage" half way through our meal.

We were recommended The Quayside Cabin and we're delighted with our evening. You couldn't get any closer to the water without falling in ! And it's location right on the quay in the new harbour is great. It is, quite literally , a Cabin ; it is small, funky , fun and lively and the decor is eclectic. The great... More

The food is very fresh, you don't have too many choices but just enough for your pleasure. Service is nice, good ambiance. Recommend.

We popped in without having read any reviews - and what a lovely surprise. It is indeed a cabin, on the slipway of the new harbour, an oyster shell's throw from the sea. Our waitress was wonderful - despite their fresh oysters (harvested in Arniston, a nearby fishing village) being large, she picked out 8 of the smallest in the... More

I too do not like destructive criticism on TripAdvisor but I have to take issue with the review from Wrinkley Traveller. I was there with my better half on the evening of Friday 6th Feb and we found the service, food, drink and the restaurant to be of the highest quality. We were sat behind a table of locals who... I really do not like destructive critisism on Tripadvisor, however after visiting here two days ago I have to say the food was apalling. Along the Cape coast seafood is generally world class, however at Quaside Cabin this week it was the worst I have ever tasted. There are some great places to eat in Hermanus, but not Quayside.

This is a lovely little restaurant, we loved it, but it's not for everyone. This is for the casually dressed, casual diner & not for the smartly dressed ritz crowd. Located right on the little harbor. Reservations strongly recommended as they are understandably packed on week-ends. There are nicely cushioned wooden benches & decor appropriate for a casual, local seafood... More
