I have eaten here in the past and was quote impressed, unfortunately this time the food was disappointing. The prawns were dry and overcooked, my fish and chips was tasteless. The mussels were tasty, but only because they were bathed in garlic

We visited this rustic seafood restaurant twice in a week because we were so impressed. The portions were filling and a must try is the abelone and fish cakes. The staff is friendly and very helpful, recommending the local catch of the day to everyone. We will advise anyone to visit Quayside Cabin.

Delicious doesn't-get-fresher-than-this fish and seafood in a very rustic cabin in the harbour. Right on the water's edge. Lovely to see the boats coming and going. Great service. Out of the main hustle and bustle of the tourist area in Hermanus. Recommended for a very casual meal.

We've always made it a point whenever we visit Hermanus (from Montagu), on our own or with friends from up country, to take them to Quayside Cabin for a seafood treat. We must have been there at least half-a-dozen times over the past few years. The setting is 'different' but somehow enjoyable. This last time - a few weeks ago... More

In a recent trip to S Africa this was the most characterful restaurant we experienced. A Tuk-tuk taxi ride delivered us at the door of the restaurant which sits on the harbour's edge. Great atmosphere with lots of locals and good to be able to see the cooking going on in the kitchen. The sea food is excellent and so... More

We had lunch at the Quayside Cabin recently - it is a very unusual setting (inside the new harbour) but that is part of its charm. The food was good - we decided on 3 starters to share for a light lunch which was more than adequate. The snoek samoosas were really good and the mussles tasty. The service was unfortunately... More

We ate here in the evening in mid October. The setting is rustic with wooden benches and the kitchen is a shipping container, but the resteraunt has nice non pretenous atmosphere. It just concentrates on serving delicious local seafood at a competitive price. As already mentioned in previous reviews, the seafood platter covers all these basis and is a great... More

I've lived almost all my life in Hermanus... and my family and I go to this restaurant almost everyweek.... and we will go there until we move.... wich is never... the best calamari in the cape.... and the peri peri prawn tower is to die for. I would recommend this place to anyone that want the best sea food ever.

We ate here on a dark and rainy evening so the cabin was all cosy inside. The platter was delicious but I agree that some of the fried stuff is overcooked. The samoosas and prawns in particular. Should have stuck to fresh grilled fish.
