I have eaten here a few times and had a function at the restaurant. The food can be good but is mostly just average. I ate Duck today. It was really tough. The calamari was tender but tasteless. The creme brulee is the best in town. The location is lovely. The service was good.

Friendly welcome, Good food, Good service. This is not a fine dining venue, it is very much a bistro in the traditional sense with a standard menu and daily specials and reasonable prices. So, the ratings are in this context. Other fine dining restaurants in the area could get the same ratings for a totally different context and experience. In... More

I recently paid a visit to Pastis for the first time. A few of my friends recommended the restaurant and I decided to give it a try. The food and service was excellent. The manager on duty was extremely friendly and we were highly impressed by his vast wine background. Well done Pastis!

We chose Pastis because our friends had enjoyed previous meals there - but what a disappointment. Starters at our table were French onion soup (which didn't look or taste right so don't call it 'french'), a tomato tart which was tasteless, and an odd aubergine dish. I had the duck special which was seriously over cooked and so dry I... More

This pretty tatty restaurant really needs a complete makeover. It is a fabulous location and it is a pity to see it wasted. Food can be good and it can be bad. Apparently the kitchen is also in need of a complete makeover. Someone one day will fix it and it will really do well.

Met up for a Birthday lunch at Pastis. Lovely atmosphere but sadly we waited more than an hour for our food. Friendly waiter with his jokes kept us entertained, though we had to always ask him to clear the table. Our food was cold.

Having witnessed what happened and the foul-mouthed individual who wrote the review, all I can say is that the restaurant and the general public are well advised not to have you back and to stay away from you. Quite frankly if you and your party can not handle their drink then stay at home please. The way that you lost... More

Spent a wonderful afternoon and early evening in the company of Pastis. Staff and management are helpful and the log fire creates a very warm and cosy atmosphere. We had a superb bottle of red wine put forward by the owner/manager and his meal suggestions also turned out to be spot on. My main course of oxtail was one of... More

We visited Pastis on a Friday night. I was very pleasantly surprised. Pastis is not a very large restaurant, but does have an outside area that may not work so well when it is cold and raining. Bookings are therefore essential. The menu is varied and one can find something to satisfy most people. Their menus ranges from light meals... More

We had a very nice light lunch. Very good value. All 3 of us enjoyed our lunch. My salad, their mussels and burgers - all well prepared. The sevice was also very good. We will be back.
