Jonkershuis Constantia is nestled in the historic core of the Groot Constantia Wine Estate next to the historic Manor House and surrounded by ancient oak trees. Your first impression is dominated by sweeping views across the oldest wine producing vineyards in South Africa, down the valley to the enveloping coastline of False Bay. This family owned and managed bistro boasts a diversity of locations from private dining grandeur, to intimate interior fire side dining, to typical Italian village gatherings in their vine covered courtyard to family style lunches on their front lawns, were children can safely play reminiscent of a bygone era.. Partner Chris Coetzee, a father of two energetic young sons says, "Our close proximity and strong association with Iziko Museums is very important to me, it is a privilege for my children to be raised surrounded by so much of their heritage." The rich cultural history of Jonkershuis lends a magical and old world charm to any occasion held at the beautiful Jonkershuis. Tammy Botbyl (partner), "The strong legacy of history and tradition has inspired many couples to share their vows here and celebrate their union in style. It is a privilege for us to be part of the beginning of so many new legacies."

A relaxing restaurant on the outskirts of Cape Town

Had a meal recently at this restaurant. The meal was very well priced. Ate outside on the lawns. Had the house special consisting of 3 local specialities including Malay curry (2 types)and boboti. Lovely.

What a gem to find close to home! Just arriving in the nick of time before the Sunday lunch crowd arrived, we settled down to a magnificent snoek pate with jam accompanying starter followed delicious kob cooked to perfection! Lots of other tantalising items on the menu that we wish to try on a future visit.

I have never been treated so rudely in all my life! I have no idea who the man was who "helped" me but he certainly does NOT belong in the Hospitality industry! I was taking my parents to this Restaurant for a lunch and to decide whether or not we would like to book this venue to celebrate my 50th... More

The setting speaks for itself with the charcter building and views over the vineyards and sea to the mountains beyond, but the food and service here mean that most reviews for this restaurant are excellent. We had a lovely meal here, starter salad was a bit too heavy on the balsamic dressing for me but had a lovely starter and... More

Lovely view over the bay, good food, friendly and attentive service. Great sundowner venue, but not in winter. Late lunch winner

Used to be a favourite for lunch, particularly liked their salt and pepper squid. When we went last month we tried to order it but were told by the manager it was too popular so they took it off the menu.

We reserved a table the day before and upon our arrival were placed at a table that was situated in the doorway to the service area and toilets. I asked if the restaurant was fully booked as only a few tables were occupied and I couldn't understand why we had been given such a horrible table. The restaurant had plenty... More

This is one of my old time faves! We Love breakfast in the sunshine under the huge old oak trees. Breakfast menu is varied. cooked breakfasts vary between 50 and 80 bucks. The eggs Florentine are to die for, rich and creamy. Lunch and dinner menu's have a lot of traditional Cape Malay dishes that are always superbly put together!... More

Hey there. Me and the family had easter Monday breakfast at Jonkershuis. This restaurant easily has one of the nicest settings in the area. Sitting outdoors is incredible. The views.. the atmosphere.. it is just amazing. The food at this spit is also magnificent. I am rather critical when it comes to speciality items such as sourdough bread.. they do... More
