Jonkershuis Constantia is nestled in the historic core of the Groot Constantia Wine Estate next to the historic Manor House and surrounded by ancient oak trees. Your first impression is dominated by sweeping views across the oldest wine producing vineyards in South Africa, down the valley to the enveloping coastline of False Bay. This family owned and managed bistro boasts a diversity of locations from private dining grandeur, to intimate interior fire side dining, to typical Italian village gatherings in their vine covered courtyard to family style lunches on their front lawns, were children can safely play reminiscent of a bygone era.. Partner Chris Coetzee, a father of two energetic young sons says, "Our close proximity and strong association with Iziko Museums is very important to me, it is a privilege for my children to be raised surrounded by so much of their heritage." The rich cultural history of Jonkershuis lends a magical and old world charm to any occasion held at the beautiful Jonkershuis. Tammy Botbyl (partner), "The strong legacy of history and tradition has inspired many couples to share their vows here and celebrate their union in style. It is a privilege for us to be part of the beginning of so many new legacies."

Chilled lunch with friends

A bunch of mates were out from London. We had a really enjoyable meal and got to catch up in the tranquil surroundings. We sat outside in the front section under the umbrellas. My wife and I both had one of their tasty selection of salads. The kiddies ran around on the lawns. A great way to spend... read more

We reserved a table the day before and upon our arrival were placed at a table that was situated in the doorway to the service area and toilets. I asked if the restaurant was fully booked as only a few tables were occupied and I couldn't understand why we had been given such a horrible table. The restaurant had plenty... More

This is one of my old time faves! We Love breakfast in the sunshine under the huge old oak trees. Breakfast menu is varied. cooked breakfasts vary between 50 and 80 bucks. The eggs Florentine are to die for, rich and creamy. Lunch and dinner menu's have a lot of traditional Cape Malay dishes that are always superbly put together!... More

Hey there. Me and the family had easter Monday breakfast at Jonkershuis. This restaurant easily has one of the nicest settings in the area. Sitting outdoors is incredible. The views.. the atmosphere.. it is just amazing. The food at this spit is also magnificent. I am rather critical when it comes to speciality items such as sourdough bread.. they do... More

We went there for a good lunch with friends recently. Food was generally good but my angel fish was a bit dry. We sat outside; good venue but chairs a bit hard! RMR UK

The first time we visited was on the Cape Town Hop on Hop off bus. The restaurant is excellent as is the wine. Couldn't fault the meal at all. Service good too.

On our first visit with friends we had amazing food, service was awesome and the setting was just simply beautiful. However on the next visit 2 weeks back, service took a dive and management were quite rude when waitering staff brought the wrong food and we brought it to their attention. If they are out of something, please don't use... More

we had a big table. 12 people with 8 kids. We waited an hour for our food and kids were really hungry by the time the food arrived. We are in the Courtyard which was out of the wind but also a little chilly as it was out of the sun too. The food was all great except my steak... More

Set at an old farm house looking over the city of Cape Town to the beach. Amazing, the food is good and we'll priced.
