A carnivore's delight

It was impressed upon us that Mzoli's is an essential stop in any visit to Cape Town. We were not able to meet Mzoli himself, but otherwise I think we enjoyed the full experience. As soon as you enter, you are presented with a large butcher's case of assorted meats: lamb, beef, two kinds of sausage... read more

If you visit mzolis and are surprised that it's dangerous then you're an idiot. Of course it's dangerous, don't carry more cash than you need to and don't act like you're carrying valuables. We went on a Saturday around midday (3 brits, 2 canadians, 2 yanks) and we're made to feel at home by staff and locals. Food cheap and... More

This place is awesome if you are looking to get out of the city and try something new. Very cultural as it is in a township. I though the food and atmosphere was great.

Never have I felt so unwelcome in South Africa and I have been in some rough places in JHB before. The "self appointed" car guards claiming money to park on land owned by the municipality had me upset and irritated in no time. They did their best to make a nuisance of themselves and their aggressive behavior made us go... More

Not for the luxurious lifestyle. Pop into Mzoli"s and experience true S.A barbeque cuisine. Don't expect 5 star because all you get is the best braai meat at the most reasonable prices ever. The DJ and his vibe make up for the lack of luxury - must do for all tourists.

Loved Mzoli's when I was living in Cape Town. The meat, food and sauce are awesome. Music is awesome. It's chilled and fun, gets you dancing... best African Braai experience. I'd suggest going a lil' early because everyone will be queuing up, but it's totally worth the wait. Amazing experience and awesome food.

Situated in Section 3, Gugulethu Township, Mzoli's offers the best braai extravaganza in Cape Town. You feel the touch of township life! The problem is overcrowding as everyone wants to enjoy the mouth watering spices that are unique to this meat house!

This was the first time that I have ever been to Mzoli's ...and it will definatly not be the last time. A well run local eatery in Langa. Clean, organised and systematic. The whole process from the time you walk into the door of Mzoli's to the time you sit down in the cafeteria like area next door is an... More

This place is located in a township called Guguletu about 20 minutes outside the center of Cape Town. We went for lunch... it was incredible. The place was packed. We got our drinks in a small house across the street. We then waited in line to get our meat picked out and then cooked. We paid and sat down in... More

This is a whole new experience within a Township. We were here during load shedding. They have a generator to keep the meat cool. The taste of the meat was so good, you just want to have more and more! Very close to the airport so combine it with your trip to our from the airport.
