Enjoy creative contemporary cooking in a visually exciting venue. With its historic Table Mountain stone and old brick that dates back to the 18th century, architect Leon Saven's design is complemented by glass, concrete and exposed ducting. Cabbage motif chandeliers and salt dishes, fine table appointments and impeccable service reflect outstanding attention to detail. The menu alters daily, using the freshest local produce and combines unusual flavours to excite the palate of the discerning diner. A boutique wine list which is very reasonably priced.

Excellent food

Inside a converted and renovated commercial space this hip and trendy restaurant serves up delicious food. Reminded me of a place in NYC--exposed brick walls and high ceilings. Great food.

I was worried the restaurant would feel very formal but it didn't at all - everyone was very relaxed and friendly, and there was plenty of exposed brickwork on the walls! The food was delicious and really interesting - wart hog, eland, and zebra all featured. Would very much recommend for an occasion meal with friends and family.

This restaursnt was absolutely wonderful. The food was incredible and very fresh, and there was a great wine selection. The venue and decor are quite hip. It's not on a Main Street so there are not any obnoxious tourists. I would highly recommend it.

The place is nice, a cozy ambiance. Service was perfect, the waiters were kind. We took elan for starter - delicious meat. For main course we took lamb and elan again, both very well. Special mention to the lamb dish, really loved it! The herbs crust was yummy.. We took desserts and caffe espresso. Nice coffee, strong blend. We were... More

As others have written, this is a casual upscale restaurant with outstanding, unusual food. All was excellent – food, wine, ambiance. I especially liked my thick almond-based gazpacho with grapes frozen (sorbet-like) balls of regular (tomato-based) gazpacho in the middle. Sounds weird, but was delicious. They have several very good vegetarian options too.

We turned up 24hrs early, due to my error. The restaurant we had really booked for the evening was just around the corner, so the Maitre D offered to let us duck through his back door to save the walk and store the wine that we had brought with us (they offer corkage) so we didn't need to bring it... They have an inspiring menu full of combinations you might not have thought possible. Best meal I've had in Cape Town by far. It was shockingly cheap for the quality of food we received. Finally, the service was impeccable. Knowledgeable, friendly and confident service from true professionals. Thank you very much indeed.

The food is very good, south african cuisine with some french influences. The service is nice and attentive. The place has an industrial feel. Highly recomended. Try the Eland, it's great!

This was one of the best meals we had in Cape Town. It is a very attractive restaurant designed with a 'cabbage motif' as it's name suggests. The food is superb in every aspect. The staff are a joy and the owners most interesting.
