Enjoy creative contemporary cooking in a visually exciting venue. With its historic Table Mountain stone and old brick that dates back to the 18th century, architect Leon Saven's design is complemented by glass, concrete and exposed ducting. Cabbage motif chandeliers and salt dishes, fine table appointments and impeccable service reflect outstanding attention to detail. The menu alters daily, using the freshest local produce and combines unusual flavours to excite the palate of the discerning diner. A boutique wine list which is very reasonably priced.

I love savoy cabbage

My favorite cabbage, but my wife dislikes it - finds it uninteresting. I love it with chicken & gravy. I used to grow them o0n my allotment in Norwich when my kids were young.

This was our least satisfying meal in South Africa. We decided to go here when others at our nearby hotel recommended it. Granted, we did not have Sweetbreads that they enjoyed, but our party of five adults had four different dishes, from beef to chicken to fish, and none of us thought anything other than "OK." My wife's rubbery and... More

This is a modern setting utilizing a real old finish . Key is the service and quality of the waiters, really friendly , most knowledgable and make the dinner a special event. The food was equally enjoyable, with various options and a wide variety of venison choises , including warthog and blesbok . The wine menu , has a number... More

We were there once for dinner - had very nice food, very good service and very good wine well recommended by the waiter. Also there is a shortcut from the restaurant to the Cape Heritage hotel that we were staying in.

During a short trip to Cape Town, I chose to go to Savoy Cabbage as I had heard so mush about the restaurant, but was most disappointed in both the food and the service. A friend ordered a steak which was full of sinew and inedible. He didn't eat the steak and the waiter didn't even bother to ask why... More

Friends from London took us here for dinner last week. I had been the one to recommend Savoy Cabbage when they asked for a list of restaurants to experience whilst in Cape Town. The food was as good as it always is, with things like salad with shredded Zebra, Blesbok etc, all of which was cooked beautifully. Our husbands opted... More

Great food - I had kudu and it was cooked perfectly. My partner is a vegan and they made a special effort to ensure he was happy. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Wonderful staff fantastic food. Lovely surprise birthday meal from my husband. Unfortunately after a day travelling around vineyards this beautiful meal was wasted on me , Just means I will have to go back to Capetown to do it all again :-)

Savoy Cabbage made it on my list for eats in Cape Town on my last visit due to a lot of raving reviews online. Sadly I was a little disappointed, as the food was mediocre and the service rushed. I might have been unlucky that particular day, but I will not be going back given all the other excellent restaurants... More

Our young waiter knew all about the eclectic menu and gave us perfect advice for our food and wine. His assistants were all professional, friendly, and a delight to interact with.
