Description: Enjoy creative contemporary cooking in a visually exciting venue. With its historic Table Mountain stone and old brick that dates back to the 18th century, architect Leon Saven's design is complemented by glass, concrete and exposed ducting. Cabbage motif chandeliers and salt dishes, fine table appointments and impeccable service reflect outstanding attention to detail. The menu alters daily, using the freshest local produce and combines unusual flavours to excite the palate of the discerning diner. A boutique wine list which is very reasonably priced.

The atmosphere, the service and the food -all worth between four and five stars. The location is in a semi-dodgy area, but the parking is close and there's a parking guard employed by the restaurant so it's all safe and good. Great for friends and great for taking your hot date for a good meal. Try the worth hog!

The reviews rate this restaurant highly, though we were a little disturbed by the slightly off-hand reception. The waiter who attended us was however very good, offering sensible choices as we sampled South African wines by that glass - one indeed was excellent. The walls are blasted brick and there are different levels giving the place an uncrowded feel, even... More

Very good service and interesting menu. Give it a go if you like an independent, casual place with quality food and service. And see Desmond Tutu fly.......you need to visit to see that !!

The restaurant has a great atmosphere and is very well decorated. The food is delicious and it has an excellent wine menu. There is a traditional maitre who is in charge of the waiters which makes that service is very good. There was really nothing to complaint about.

Savoy Cabbage has been my favourite restaurant for many years and it is based on my overall experiences with reference to a recent dinner. I went, first, in 2000 and I have recommended it to countless people over the years. Very few have been disappointed. Caroline, Frank, Beth and the rest of the team make it something special. I had... More

I've been to Savoy Cabbage many times over the years that it has been in business. That was in the late 90's. It was clear from the start that it had "the edge". An architecturally interesting two floor open-plan space in an historically important 18th Century block called Heritage Square in Cape Town. The food is sublime. I'm amazed at... More

What a wonderful restaurant Savoy Cabbage is! I had Thanks Giving dinner with a friend here with a friend on Thursday night. We were well looked after, enjoyed exceptional wine at very very reasonable prices and the most delicious food! The pumpkin pie with cinnamon ice-cream was superb! I would highly recommend this restaurant for a great evening out!

Was recommended this restaurant when in UK and after arriving in Cape Town went there on our first night, they were having a Thanksgiving dinner and am so pleased we went. The staff were friendly, the food delicious, and the price so reasonable for a restaurant in central Cape Town. Will defiantly go back. Would recommend this restaurant

Went here on a weekday night after our first choice was closed. We didn't have reservations but there were enough tables available. I'm glad we ended up here as this meal was fantastic. The server recommended the hartebeest cooked rare, which I was a little skeptical since I haven't had much game meat and rare seemed a little too extreme.... More

Great place to eat with an out-of-the-ordinary menu eg gin-soaked gemsbok! Good value and excellent wine list. Would definitely recommend.
