Enjoy creative contemporary cooking in a visually exciting venue. With its historic Table Mountain stone and old brick that dates back to the 18th century, architect Leon Saven's design is complemented by glass, concrete and exposed ducting. Cabbage motif chandeliers and salt dishes, fine table appointments and impeccable service reflect outstanding attention to detail. The menu alters daily, using the freshest local produce and combines unusual flavours to excite the palate of the discerning diner. A boutique wine list which is very reasonably priced.

Great food and ambiance

Unassuming exterior hides an amazing restaurant inside. Every dish recommended by the waiter was amazing!

We visited Savoy cabbage for dinner whilst staying in Cape Town. We chose it for its proximity to our hotel (10 min walk) as well as the unusual sounding menu (I had never eaten warthog, zebra, springbok or kudu!) and interesting design. We were very impressed with all aspects of the restaurant, from the cheery chap who took our phone... More

Located in the same building as our hotel (Cape Heritage - highly recommended) - reservations suggested. Casual dress. Nice space. We sat on the second floor terrace. Small but adequate and seasonally changing menu. Seafood and native game (impala, etc.). Good wine list. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Appetizers were beet root salad, gazpacho, and steak tartare. Entrees were zebra,... More

We had a dinner which, in one word can be summarized as average. As Cape Town is full with great places to eat, and we've been visiting some of those places, I cannot say anything exceptional about Savoy Cabbage. I had a beef Sirloin which has not really been treated well at the kitchen - mine was close to being... More

Enjoyed the atmosphere, the food and wine. However, the waiter speeded us through the meals making the experience extremely stressful. Dinner and desert finished in an hour. We didn't even get to finish the wine we ordered with our starters. Otherwise a great place.

We have always loved this restaurant that just becomes better and better. Extremely innovative menu and what you get on the plates is always above your expectations. Impeccable service from a well trained staff. The wine list offers a lot of exclusive South African wines by the glass to a low cost and with generous fillings of the glasses. And... More

Ordered rack of lamb medium rare, came bloody.Tried to order a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon. The restaurant only had one Cabernet Sauvignon costing more than R1300!!Ordered a blend instead and this bottle came warm.Had to put the bottle in a ice bucket. Also very long wait for the food. This restaurant has to sharpen up to compete with all the fantastic restaurants in Cape... We've been to Savoy Cabbage on several special occasions - in groups and as a couple - and have always been delighted with our meals and the service. Our hostess Elizabeth, deserves a special mention, not only for the quality of service that she consistently and considerately provides, but also for her recollection of our details from our previous visits...
