Description: Enjoy creative contemporary cooking in a visually exciting venue. With its historic Table Mountain stone and old brick that dates back to the 18th century, architect Leon Saven's design is complemented by glass, concrete and exposed ducting. Cabbage motif chandeliers and salt dishes, fine table appointments and impeccable service reflect outstanding attention to detail. The menu alters daily, using the freshest local produce and combines unusual flavours to excite the palate of the discerning diner. A boutique wine list which is very reasonably priced.

Last night in Cape Town was made even more special by our dinner at Savoy Cabbage. Our server was fantastic…just the right amount of charm mixed with professional approach. Very knowledgeable about the menu, offered details and wine suggestions…all terrific. Game and more traditional items all proved to be perfectly prepared and actually very special. Overall experience was very nice.... More

We ate here to celebrate a significant birthday! The menu is very good with some more imaginative game dishes if you are feeling adventurous. Definitely try there famous tomato tart to start with. It is delicious. For mains I had lamb, which was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. Unfortunately we didn't have room for desserts. The wine list is fairly... More

An attentive staff and a varied menu. Slightly overpriced but good flavoursome food. Street parking was not easy but it was at the beginning of December. The building is lovely art-deco but the inside seemed cold and bare.

Interesting place with a very interesting menu that you really should try in CT. Small with old brick walls (warehouse from the 16th century our very good and service minded waiter Michael told us) combined with glass on 3 open levals was great !

The Savoy Cabbage was a natural stop for us as we were staying in the Bo Kaap neighborhood close by. By arriving when they opened at 7 p.m. we managed to be seated (4 of us) without a reservation. Thank goodness as it was a wonderful dinner and splendid evening. My wife had rack of lamb which she proclaimed as... More

The menu offers a wide range of choices and we enjoyed 3 courses - unusual for us as SA portions are generous. The food was well prepared and presented, the service excellent and the choices of wines by the glass very good. All in all one of the best meals we ate in our trip but also more expensive than... The Savoy Cabbage was on top form and provided excellent food in the somewhat quirky surrounds that is it's restaurant. Busy on both the ground floor and mezzanine levels, the menu is tempting with a reasonable choice. Full marks for the sweetbreads and steaks and the service is attentive without being too intrusive. Value for money and a novel experience.... More

We experienced some brilliant dining in Cape Town but this sadly was not one of those occasions. Perhaps our expectations were too high but we found the ambience a wee bit pretentious for the average food which we received For the quality compared with other restaurants we found it to be expensive as well, by Cape Town standards. Service was... More

My wife and I had a inconsistent experience on a Saturday evening visit. Upon arrival we were pointed to rather than shown to our table by the host which was rather odd given the fine dining environment. We subsequently saw the same host point out tables on the second floor to customers even elderly customers who made there way alone... More

We visited 2 nights ago and were actually quite disappointed with the whole experience. As we have 2 small children, it is not often that we have a night out, which made it more of a let-down. When we arrived, the hostess was too lazy to actually take us up the steps to our table. She pointed us in the... More
