Description: Enjoy creative contemporary cooking in a visually exciting venue. With its historic Table Mountain stone and old brick that dates back to the 18th century, architect Leon Saven's design is complemented by glass, concrete and exposed ducting. Cabbage motif chandeliers and salt dishes, fine table appointments and impeccable service reflect outstanding attention to detail. The menu alters daily, using the freshest local produce and combines unusual flavours to excite the palate of the discerning diner. A boutique wine list which is very reasonably priced.

It was close to our hotel and elegant. Excellent food and reasonable prices. The service was prompt and the house wine was very good.

Had looked forward to evening at Savoy Cabbage for birthday read reviews, thought great. When we arrived greeted by pompous manager or owner said we wanted drinks at bar first, told us where our table would be. Not a sound to be heard in restaurant, just wispers, no background music or smiles on any of staff faces, we asked the... More

I am sorry you did not stay to even sample our food. You are incorrect in saying we advertise cheese soufflé as our speciality. It is one of a repertoire of dishes that appears on our menu from time to time. The website clearly says the menu is an example and states it changes daily. It is a double baked... More

This place has incredibly personal service--from our first step in (a tad late thanks to a cab driver that didn't listen to where we wanted to go) to our fond good by. The tables are well-spaced and the noise and light levels are just right. We ate up stairs with a view of the whole, pretty place. But the food... More

The restaurant has a very fun menu with plenty of opportunity to try meats such as warthog that you might not see at home. The staff was very helpful explaining the menu to help you pick a meal that you will enjoy.

Very original cuisine, with a wide selection of appetizers, main courses and desserts. They are all worth to be tried! The wine list is good too and the place is really cozy. Service speed is not their major pro, but that seems to be a constant in Cape Town. You just need to get used to it.

I ate at this restaurant warthog with olive potato cake and some fancy dessert. Both were extremly good. The price and the restaurant itself are also good. Unfortunatly, I ordered softdrinks with a best before date expired 30 days before and had in my opinion a strange taste.

I am delighted that you enjoyed your meal so much but concerned about the soft drink issue. I have checked every can in the restaurant and have withdrawn any that have a best before date that has passed. I found none that were very out of date and tested then and found the contents to be perfect. I must say... More

Enjoyed every moment: variety, quality, service... And not that expensive. The restaurant was fully booked on the night we've been there, so book in advance. Highly recommended!

In a sophisticated and creative environment, we had a most delicious meal you could imagine, with flavours creatively combined in dishes to present an incredible eating experience. I'd highly recommend the sugar cured Kudu, (presented with delicately flavoured soba noodles and pineapple salsa!) to start with...and for a main the warthog was absolutely delicious!! The service was smooth, friendly and... More

We were walking on Bree Street looking for a place and somebody pointed us to Savoy Cabbage. Wow, we were in for such a treat! Such a unique place with beautiful and unique decor, unique dishes, and good service. It's not often you get the chance to eat game meat, so I jumped at the chance to have warthog and... More

Savoy Cabbage was recommended to us by our wine tour guide during our stay in Cape Town. My husband and I enjoyed a great meal (smoked salmon, fresh fish, and we both tried kudu for the very first time...yum!). The desserts were also delicious and are not to be skipped! Our three course meal would have been triple the cost... More
