Enjoy creative contemporary cooking in a visually exciting venue. With its historic Table Mountain stone and old brick that dates back to the 18th century, architect Leon Saven's design is complemented by glass, concrete and exposed ducting. Cabbage motif chandeliers and salt dishes, fine table appointments and impeccable service reflect outstanding attention to detail. The menu alters daily, using the freshest local produce and combines unusual flavours to excite the palate of the discerning diner. A boutique wine list which is very reasonably priced.

Well worth a visit OR a regular spoil!!

We booked to celebrate my wife’s birthday and had a request for MCC to be chilled pre arrival - all done to my expectation!! What a magnificent experience. The abundant flavors that we experienced were exquisite; all round an evening to be repeated soon.

Having read about the place as "a classic" in fine dining in Cape Town I decided to take my girlfriend there. We had some very nice food and a competent waiter with us. He provided us with good advises on the winepairing and the place has a broad selection of wines by the glass. For both my girlfriend and myself... More

Upon the recommendation of several friends, my husband and I ate at Savoy Cabbage the second night of our honeymoon, and the food was absolutely fantastic. I was excited that the menu included some of the South African game meats that I had wanted to try in traveling to that part of the world. I was torn between the warthog... More

In a city with great restaurants, but also with a lot of turnover, this long established restaurant is always superb.Down the years I have always brought new visitors to Cape Town and they always leave deeply impressed. As well as excellent food and a fine wine list it has consistently the most professional wait staff ably and professionally managed by... More

Not many restaurants have zebra and warthog on the menu, but this one does. We loved this place, although the service was sometimes hard to find. But when found, the service was first rate. Smily, helpful as we have come to realise is the South African way.

We were recommended to try the chicken liver pate : usually a reliable stand by , but not overly exciting: here it was superb served with currant toast and figs in Port. Mains included exceptional veal sweetbreads and the best warthog I have ever eaten. All this with excellent Chenin blanc. Generally a short but well-balanced wine list and good... More

Quality of food 10, service 10, ambience10, value for money- off the scale at current sterling/rand exchange rate. We thoroughly enjoyed this experience and would recommend it to anyone in Cape Town. Glad ŵe booked ahead on a recommendation and reconfirmed by sms on the day and that was for a Monday evening.

Always a nice experience to come back to this smart CT restaurant, after a year. We were three couples this time, so chatting took precedence over selecting food. The menu seems to be a little simpler than previously, which is fine given the food quality is good. And, it was! I ate smoked salmon starter, which was excellent and sirloin... More

I visited Savoy Cabbage twice when in Cape Town, immediately after the New Year. On both occasions our party was looked after by Beth, a very knowledgeable and helpful server. Beth took control of the party on nine guys, in town for the Test Match, and soon had us settled with various delicious starters, a selection of excellent, well presented... More

A must eat place when staying in cape town. Nice decor and great service. They have lots of options that you won't see elsewhere - like zebra !! I would book a table as it is always busy, make time for a cocktail upstairs before dinner.
